It was like a very strange "blind date". http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/um.gif
Hubby and I sitting in a restaurant parking lot about forty miles from homebase, looking for people we had never met. We hoped they would be wonderful, I am sure they felt the same way.
Up drove the described mini van, full of crates, dog supplies and bouncing dachsies.http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/wow.gif
That was our introduction to Lou and Sandra of DachsHaven, a Knoxville, Tenn. couple who are devoted to the breed. And were their collection of dogs adorable and very different one from the other. From chocolate to dappled, from youngish to seniors. Some disabled, others not. But all, the happiest dachsies you can imagine.http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/happy.gif
On behalf of C2CDR they would be taking Scamp and Boomer home, to find them permanent placement. Despite having seen their pictures, Sandra started laughing every time she looked at Da Brudders. I am sure, today, at home, she is still searching for the dachsie genetic factor that produced these guys.http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/confused.gif
She and husband Lou do miles and miles of transport each year, picking up and delivering Dachshunds in need. In addition they foster many that come their way. True heroes in every sense of the word.http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/angel.gif
Were it not for the fact that with Sandra and Lou, they have the best chance of finding a good home, letting them go would have been much more difficult.
If their future owners wonder why they seem to have a penchant for both clean and dirty clothes; I hope someone explains they spent part of their puppyhood in our laundry room.http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/lol.gif
I must thank Andrea, C2CDR and DachsHaven for taking the time to further rescue these two little guys of questionable heritage.

It must have made you feel so much better meeting that wonderful couple. Sounds like you have left them in good hands.
Those brothers are so cute.
