I just had to post this poll! Argghhhhh
I can never get any of those done by myself.
I can only clean Casey's ears when he is sleeping.
Clipping his nails needs 2 or more people
Brushing his teeth is always disasterous.

Ears are about the only thing he likes me to do. I've been working on playing with his paws and nails while he's laying on me to get him used to me touching them. Hopefully when it's THAT time again he'll let me do it. The only good thing is that his nails grow really slow. The vet said that it may have to do with lack of nutrients when he was younger. I've only had his nails clipped once in five months and there wasn't much clipped off.

I've never actually cleaned my dogs ears!?!?! Is this a big problem, the vet doesn't clean them either, he looks but says their okay...should I do something preventative??

Kahlua and Penny don't really mind when we clip their nails. One of us holds, the other clips. I get nervous clipping since their nails are black and I can't see the quick! Which reminds me, Kahlua's are getting long! It seems alot better to do after a bath when their nails have softened a bit, they are so hard, compared to my papillon or cats.
They all like their teeth to be brushed ok, too. Although, Kahlua goes running when I bring the little toothbrush out for some reason, but he is good when I'm brushing them. Penny likes licking the toothpaste!
As for ears, we haven't cleaned their ears in awhile, but they look very clean. The vet always says they look good.

Gunner won't let me brush his teeth. I have bought all the toothpastes and different brushes. I now buy a blue liquid from the Vet that goes into his water that is supposed help with the teeth (kinda like brushing). I think you can get it at any pet supply.

Janet, have you tried CET paultry flavored toothpaste? My crew thinks it's some great treat they are getting. They try to lick it off each others teeth as I desperately try to brush them.

I have tried that toothpaste also, he lets me open the mouth just far enough to lick the toothpaste of.

Actually teeth brushing is the easiest thing for us :) as Buck has only one tooth in his head......poor thing :( . His first owners (breeders.....backyard I suspect) did not take care of his teeth and they eventually had to be removed all but one. (He had heartworm too when he left them....ARGHHH). Despite all he has endured he is a happy boy with his tongue hanging out to the side most times (no teeth to hold it in). He gives us our kisses from the side. :hugs1:

They are all easy but The poll could only let me pick one so I said clip nails. He is used to me doing it. I try to do it quickly and he gets a treat afterwards.
As for teethbrushing, I use the PET poulty flavored toothpaste and he loves the taste. He's looking for more afterwards.
His ears don't get too icky so I I only clean them when I either brush his teeth, clip his nails or when I give him his heartworm treatment.

We don't need to do her nails, the sidewalks of NYC seem to take care of that.
Teeth she's ok with, but not often as I forget to do it as often as I should (hope those bully sticks really are helping to clean teeth!).
Ears we use a cleaning solution in once every week or two, and I wipe them out with a tissue practically on a daily basis. Tasha makes a lot of ear wax, and so they need to be cleaned often. But she really seems to like having me clean them since her ears are itchy so often. Poor baby had a raging ear infection when we got her, and has some internal damage from an untreated one as a puppy.

Speaking of teeth, I figured i'd throw this in
Long Long ago, I had a Trouble maker grman Shepard. Jake. (loved him dearly)
He was always eating things, and one day when he went on a romp around the neighborrhood he brought back home for us a dirty diaper. Not WET, DIRTY !!!:wonky::sick2:, OMG the stinch in his mouth. If I remember right we went thru a whole tube of tooth paste, some whiskey on the gums and tounge, ( Kill any baddies) and then thru the toothbrush away.
So cleaning teeth on sophie is pretty easy for me.

I can trim Macys nails with ease and brush her teeth. With Sammy its a struggle with ears, teeth and nails.:banghead:
