A coworker/friend of mine has been going to school at night for awhile now and this Sat she will finally graduate from college. She's very excited and very proud (as she should be!) and I want to give her a nice gift. Any ideas??

The first thing that came to my mind was a gift certificate to a hotel/spa. I'm sure that your friend hasn't had a lot of time to pamper their self so this would be great. A day spa gift certificate would be real nice too or a nice resturant. If they collect certain items you could buy a real nice collectable or a small one to enclose with the gift certificate. Good luck!

OOh, a spa certificate sounds so nice. Maybe for a massage or facial. I got a great massage at that big Cooper center on Preston in North Dallas. They have a spa there too. It's pricey I think, but worth it if that is what you are planning on spending. Of course Dallas has tons of other spas too. I know gift certificates can seem so impersonal to give, but I just LOVE getting them. When I give them I always try to buy a little something else - a journal, a frame, etc to go with the card.

Also, you could always try buying a monogrammed something or other....for my college graduation I got an awesome Tiffany bracelet with a charm that has my graduation date on it. I also got a nice silver monogrammed post-it note holder for my desk! But I would enjoy the spa stuff the best. :)

I didn't graduate(with my BS yet) yet but after this semester i told the BF that he needs to take me to Atlantic City for a night.

The spa gift certificate sounds great! I love getting gifts like that. Massages and facials are very relaxing!

Another idea is a gift basket from bath and Body works! My BF just bought his mom 12 tubes of lotion and shower cream for Christmas for her. (Yes, he bought her other stuff too!)

Hope - what is her degee in? You could tie the gift into a theme based on her degree, or something that will help her advance her career now that she has been hooded.

All those ideas sound great. If she is a business major, maybe a nice organizer or portfolio? They have these for all sorts of budgets. I like J's idea of tying it into her degree. But of course, being pampered is always something to look forward to. How about her actual degree? Is she planning on having it framed? Maybe a gift certificate to a framing shop so she can display it?

You guys are so good at gift suggestion, next year I'm waiting until Dec. 23rd to do my shopping, and just ask all of you for advice of what to get!!

I would love a facial NOW...just to get over holiday stress. But, I would also love the charm or something related to my major, because it's something you would have forever! So I would vote for a peronalized frame with her name & graduation date.

Thanks for all the great suggestions! You guys are good. :cheer:
These are all great ideas... probably won't spend enough to go the spa route... although I will be hitting Santa up for my own spa outing! Maybe I'll do a combination - frame or certificate for one and a bunch of Bath & Body Works stuff... I always stock up when they have sales. Cool! Thanks again.
Courtney, I heard an ad on the radio today for the spa at the Cooper Clinic... my dad worked there for years... I'll have to check it out!
