Hi All!

I have just gone one step deeper into my dachsie addiction. I am fostering a beautiful red smoothie small standard boy named Sunny. He is 4 years old and is a sweetie pie. His hooman is giving him up because she wants hooman babies and sez he is not kid friendly. He will be eventually going down to Santa Barbara where Central DRNA rescue contact Alda lives. We will take him down probably during Labor day weekend. My parents live about 10 blocks from Alda so it will be a duel visit. I've not had too much experience with boys but I notice he is marking his territory a lot. Thankfully mostly outside, though I've had to steer him that way today. He even marked Maddie. I guess she is his now....LOL. Dolly and Maddie seen to be tolerating him at this point. He would love for them to play with him. His tail is going ALL the time. Big deep standard bark! Hopefully as they get to know each other, we'll have some priceless entertainment. This has got to be my calling. I feel soooo good about doing this. I feel, like many other wonderful foster mommy and daddys out there.....WE are making the difference for dachsies. Now if only I could find a REAL job.....you know....the kind that PAYS you?

Congrats!

I bet you'll have a hard time giving him up a month from now. I'm glad Dolly and Maddie are ok with him. They are doing their part for rescue too.

Can't wait for all the stories!

Hi Dolly's Mom,

Congratulations on your new foster boy. I too began fostering about three weeks ago. I have my first foster boy, Sam. He is a sweetheart too. He also marked ALL over the place when I first brought him home. I had to more or less start from the beginning with him on housebreaking. It is going slowly but surely.

It is a great contribution what you are doing. I always say I want to give back just a tiny bit of all the joy these great dogs have given me in the last three years. So once again, congrats and thanks!

Sandi,
I'm so happy for you!! I would love to foster a doxie, too, but it just isn't possible right now. It is true what they say, ya' know? Once you have a couple of doxies, you gotta have more!!! You are awesome for doing this.
