Since one of the big pet store chains had the Ferrari kennels on sale last week I stopped off on my way home from work Friday and picked up a second one. Last Summer when we added Tanner to our home and needed a second medium size kennel I purchased a Ferrari thinking that Tanner the new boy would get the new kennel. Frank wouldn't hear of that and demanded the new kennel giving the old Pet Porter kennel to the new kid. To help keep things settled down at home when I bought the second Ferrari I also bought a couple of new red tennis balls and a new bright colored oversize tennis ball for Frank.
When I got home I set the new kennel just inside the front door then went and let the boys out. Tanner spotted the new kennel and immediately got very excited. Frank checked it out but luckily didn't think it was any thing special (after all he already has a Ferrari). I had a hard time getting Tanner to go out he was so excited about the new kennel. Once I got him outside I moved his towel from his old kennel to the new one and exchanged it with the old one in the kitchen. Frank did check out the new kennel a couple of times but seemed content that he had some new balls to play with. I never expected a new kennel could cause so much excitement for one of my boys.
I'm not sure of our plans for the old kennel yet. It may stay and be our primary car kennel or if I decide it is taking up too much space it will be donated to our rescue friends.
