Someone on AbleDox posted this and I think it should be a poem. So beautiful the words it gave me chills.

A wonderful testimony to the love, heart, and teaching of one tiny soul!
Every life matters and each makes a difference in the lives of others. The
more we open our hearts and homes to these precious wonderous creatures of
love, the more blessings and happiness we have ourselves. Its a definite
win/win!
Is it worth the pain and grief when they leave us? Well . . . .when it seems
like it isn't, tally the memories, lessons, and licks of love and I say YES! A
million times YES!

That is beautiful. Having lost 3 dachshunds in the last 3 years (I had several seniors and lost them close together), I know exactly what they mean. The memories are priceless.

That is also what makes you decide to get another after you lose a loved one. The love of a dog (or several!) is such an important part of your life.

thanks for sharing

We have lost our Friend this New Years Eve, Sir Little Skip,
Skipper for short. He was the best dog a person could ever have.He gave us three loving years of his life, full of love, fun, companionship. My daughter is having a hard time understanding why , Skipper had to leave us, I tell her God had a special spot for him to fill up there, and that Skipper will always be with us in our hearts and memories. We called him our little handsome man, we will miss him so much, :sob: but I know he has earned his wings :angel1: and will fly by our heart and in our dreams, we love you Skipper, may you rest in peace now.

Love Mom and Michelle

That is really nice and definitely says it all. We've lost two seniors dogs and one Donkey and a couple of kitties in 2004, but we had wonderful years with them and wouldn't trade it for anything. Memories = Priceless!
