http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/happy.gifThe weekend before the holiday weekend we went to the coast near Santa Barbara, CA to attend a party for some friends. The furbabies went of course and the drive over wasn't to bad. On Saturday morning in the campground on a outside visit, Caesar was http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/walking.gif along beinghttp://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/cool.gif and enjoying the coolness of the morning when a gopher pop up and out of his hole. The gopher saw Caesar and went back in the hole and Caesar was on his tail. When all was done and I regained control, only two inches of his tail was showing and his lead with the dirt just a flying. This was not a problem until we went back to the 5th wheel. 2DachsieMom would not allow Caesar back in because the campground waters the grass at night and Caesar was a muddy mess and had to be hosed off, dried before he could go inside again. On additional trips out he kept going to the hole hoping to find his friend the GOPHER. I found out this trip just how determined this little guy is.

It sounds like Oscar was living up to the best of his heritage being a true earth dog. That's one of the reasons I haven't take the boys over to close to the prairie dog towns that are close to our home.

The big problem with the prairie dogs is that about every other year the plague hits one or more of the colonies and while fleas in general are not a problem here on the ?front range of Colorado the do exists in the colonies and are the main means by which the plague is transmitted.

Sounds like Caesar had a great trip! All the excitement might even be worth that unexpected bath! Otis saw his first rabbit the other day. Luckily, Otis was in and rabbit was outside the fence. I couldn't get Otis to come in for a long time. Aren't they fun?
