I am still having trouble understanding a couple of things. I went to photobucket.com because I wanted to post a picture here. I have signed up but don't know how to get the picture there to the album. Then what? Will it tell me how to get it posted here? The brain just isn't understanding this computer stuff, but I am trying! Also, how do you quote? When I did a "quote" on a post it doesn't look like the other quotes other people have done. Thanks for anyones help!

Photobucket is SUPER easy. :)
When you've created an acount and logged on- you should be taken directly to a page with a text box and a "browse" button (among other things, of course). Click on the browse button to pop open another window that will explore your hard drive. Find the picture that you want to share (most people save photos under "My Documents" and then "My Pictures"- but you may be saving them elsewhere or in another subfolder. Click on your picture's name and choose "open". The address of your picture will now appear in Photobucket's text box. Push the "Submit" button underneath it- and your picture will be uploaded to your album.
Once that occurs- you will see a smaller version of it with three addresses underneath. For this board's purposes- choose the third one (IMG) and copy it. Simply paste that copied address directly into a post here- it already has the IMG tags!
However- it's a good idea to check the SIZE of your photos. We all love photos- but people on slower connections will REALLY appreciate it if you keep the pictures to a reasonable size. ;)
There are a few ways to "quote". If you click the big Quote button on someone's post- it will quote THAT entire post and identify the original poster-
Like this:
I am still having trouble understanding...
You'll notice when you prepare the reply- that the initial quote tag looks like this:
.
However- you can also do a generic quote by using the formatting button above the text block you type in. It will NOT include the original poster's name (unless you change it)- and you have to paste whatever words you want to quote into the text box that pops up when you push the button.
In this case, the quote will look like this:
[quote]I am still having trouble understanding...
and the initial quote tag is simply: [quote]
You can add the =Penny's mom yourself, if you choose- and if the non-italicized letters bug you, you can add the tags to change that, too. It's just quicker to use the buttons within a thread to reply- if that's the look you want. :)

Chrissie, thank you thank you thank you :hug2: I did it :cheer: I posted a picture of Penny! Easy directions, I needed that! Thank you so much. The picture is big, so next time I will work on the size! Also, thanks for the quote directions as well. Looks like I did get that one right after all! Thanks again, much appreciated :)
