I left for a business trip on the 8th and when Isobel saw my suitcase she assumed we were going to Detroit to visit grandpa. I tried explaining that "No. Mamma is going out of town and not to Detroit." All Isobel heard was Detroit. Big mistake! She cried and rocked her crate to the point I thought she was going to topple herself right onto the floor. She then got the pits screaming at the top of their little lungs. They were all singing the "Don't Leave Me" aria and made their mamma cry

My petsitters informed me that Isobel was snubbing them and being a pain as her mean mamma left without her. When I came home late friday night she was happy to see me for about three seconds then the snubbing began. This whole week she's refused to listen to me and has even gone so far as to look me in the eye and pee in the middle of my bed!!! She has NEVER done that before.

So....what does mamma do? Mamma packs Isobel up and takes her to work yesterday in a blatant attempt to get back in her furkid's good graces. We had lunch and she played with my boss and then we went to Petsmart.

Did it work, you ask? So far so good. As long as I don't screw up again, I think she forgives me.

I must say, these little wieners sure do hold grudges. All she would do is give me dirty looks and ignore me. I just couldn't believe it! Pray for me that Isobel truly forgives my selfishness...

Mary, That is truly, so FUNNY! How can these dachsunds be so darn smart?! I can just picture Isobel doing her best to ignore you! It sounds as if you made up for your severe neglect and should have the forgive-
ness of poor, little Isobel!

Oh, dear, I don't think I could survive that! Luckily for me, Annie isn't the grudge-holding kind of dachshund. (Sometimes I suspect this is because she has a memory the size of a pea, but never mind that.) My sister's dachshund does the snubbing thing, and since my sister does a LOT of traveling, it's very hard on her!

Poor baby - mean Mama left without her..., reminds me of Rufus (my 9 month old). Today was a busy day and was out for most of the day. Tonight is a Little League Dance and I had my clothes all ironed, laid out and ready to go. I got home about 3:00 and looked at my skirt and he had gone pee on it. That means he had to jump up on the bed - that little ****. I was so mad at him - was this his way of saying that I was gone too long and I was missing you?? Sure hope so as I to quick do the laundry to clean my skirt.

I am laughing and so relieved at the same time. I thought perhaps our incidents with snubbing and watering the bed linen were unusual.

Fortunately, it has only happened a couple of times! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/eek.gif

With all your tales of dachsie grudge-holding, I no longer feel alone. Thank you!

I have to add, my dad and sister have gotten the biggest kick out of the Isobel snubbing stories. They've called several times this past week for Isobel updates. Have these people nothing better to do than make me go into graphic detail of my slip-up and Isobel's retribution? Guess not. I haven't heard my dad laugh so hard in ages. For that, the peeing on the bed was worth it.

Mary, I'm so happy to know there are some grudgeholding dachies out there. Lili has pulled the "pee for revenge" trick on me several times, the worst being when I was dressed to go out to a meeting and was sitting on the bed doing some last minute makeup magic....she jumped on the bed and snuggled ever so nicely up to my fanny and cut loose, hitting the mattress cover, two sheets, spread,my panties, hose and skirt. I wanted to kill her (almost). Her latest was this past week when she went to the vet for her yearly checkup. They clipped her nails (took two to hold her 9 pounds down and one to cut), needless to say after that, several needles and a probe in the you know what, she was most annoyed with me. The little was put outside immediately when we arrived home but she flew in the door and peed right in front of me as good as to say, "I'll get you, my Pretty". Aren't these babies something else?
