Oh, my silly, silly boy!!! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/heart.gif TaterTot does the cutest thing!!! When we play, he rolls over on his back constantly!!! He looks just like an otter! He takes his little sock in his mouth, rolls over on his back, hold his sock in his front paws and chews on it upside down. He rolls over and just lays there sometimes until I give him zerberts on his belly. Of course he will roll over on his back when I scold him for biting too.
Anyone else's doxie do this? I know that my sister's 12 week old does it...but I can't tell if it just runs in our family?!!!?

Button does this too. I call it her otter pose. She rolls on her back and holds her bone between her paws and chews it. Since she is a wire and has a whiskery face she really looks like a little otter.

Mine are constantly on their backs. However it's not for play, they want me to do my job which is rub my belly.

I always say that Otis was an otter in his "past life." The way he rolls around and lays on his back, his sleek and glossy black coat. However, he does not love the water as an otter would. These dogs are so funny. Sometimes they remind me of many different animals. Kevin has the nerve to call Otis a "strange little creature." He couldn't believe how he would just lay on his back without a care, for all the world to see! He also calls him "rude dog" when he does this. Oh, what would we do without our dachsies??!!

i love it when chester does this!!! he'll just lay there and chew his bone, or i'll wave my hair in his face and he'll batt it around with his paws! its great. i can't get mortimer to stay on her back though. she just rolls over.
