I had to get a refill on a scrip and then run to McDonalds. I was craving those new yogurt parfaits . . .anyway, Isobel was NOT going to be left behind so she went with me. We're sitting in the drive-thru line which is between the parking lot and the door. An older couple get out of their car and Isobel spies them. She just Knows they are coming to say "HI pretty Isobel!" Well, I know better and they walk on by and go in the door.
What was funny and sad at the same time was Isobel starts her greeting behavior. Her little body starte wiggling full speed, her eyes light up and she is smiling. When these people just kept on walking without even saying how pretty she was, her whole body kinda deflated. I was trying not to laugh, cuz my baby looked soooo sad and I just had to buy her a burger to make her smile again.
That's typical Isobel: You See Me---You Love Me---You Love Me! My poor baby needed held and rocked she was so upset over that snub!

Dachsies do seem to have the personality "I'm cute, you have to love me and give me attention". I know when I see hounds, or labs, some of the other breeds, the dogs usually couldn't care less that you're around. That's one of the biggest reasons I like this breed. They like to be babied and loved so much, you get to feel so close to them... like they're another kid in the house. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Oh Isobel, that's so sad! Never you mind my darling, nasty horrid people didn't say hello. Happens to Shelbie too, as people approach she's ready with a smile and a wiggle and she looks snubbed if they don't say hello, it's their loss I say! and WE love you lots

Isobel, you're about the most beautiful dachsie I've ever seen. There was DEFINITELY something wrong with those people. There's no accounting for hoomans some times--you just have to try to rise above it.

That is really neat that Isobel has never met a stranger she didn't love. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/heart.gif
Greta and Baylea think everyone who approaches our van is a dentist. All the people see are teeth! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/mad.gif
Our girls are very territorial.
Yet, once introduced to guests, they mellow out.
Anyone who can pass a darling dog, without at least a smile, is not someone I would care to spend time with.
Tell Isobel it is their loss, not hers.

Bart makes this comment to anyone who doesn't pay attention when we are out walking the boys.....and it's hard to miss us, especially now that Dash is staying with us for a while. Two people....three adorable little dachshunds.....
We always exclaim over every dog we see....even if it's just to each other in the car.....
and yet some people have the nerve not to even smile at our guys! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif Isobel.....lots of sympathetic "tisses" from our guys!

Well if it had been me I'd of said Hello to you sweetie. I got caught looking into this car soon after I got Mitzi cause I saw this cute little dachshund. I just wanted to say HI to her! She was so small and sweet and the guy who she was with gave me this LOOK. I was so embarrassed but hey it's not like I had my nose pressed against the window or nothing. Well at least I don't think I left a nose print.

Dis is Isobel. Tanks for all the kind words of support for my cuteness. I thought I might've been overreacting to their snub, but my hoomama assured me that I wasn't. It really hurt that they just walked by and never said a word to me. But hoomama explained that sometimes there are just bad peoples out there and McDonald's seems to be a magnet for them. I'm not real sure what she means, but she said it in such a soothing voice that it made me feel ever so much better. Well, that, and the burger.
I love all you hoomans sooo much and thanks again for your reassurances of how cute I am.
Love,
Isobel

Isobel!
You should have had Hoomama get their license plate # and then sent them a "ticket" for a payment of a "Snub" to be paid in burgers to you (The Beautiful Isobel) or they would have to go to jail!

Lovely Isobel,
About that couple at McDonald's, we will say to you what our mommy always says to us when we look happily at someone walking toward us who steps around us and doesn't even bother to look.
