Last night I went over to a friends house to pick raspberries. She has a number of good producing raspberry bushes but doesn't care for them herself plus she is currently out of town. Since it's just a short walk from our home to her home I took the boys along. They know Holley's home always want to turn in there when we go for our walks (Holley keeps some dog treats just for them).
I did a quick double check of the backyard to try and make sure it was dachshund proof before turning the boys loose to wander while I picked berries. Actually I let Frank run free and kept a foot on Tanner's leash since he is the boy who will run off if given a chance. Shortly after I started picking the berries I gave one to each of the boys. That was all it took for Tanner to gain an interest in the berries. He was quickly picking his own berries from the lower branches. As we were getting closer to finishing up and I had picked all the lower branches clean Tanner started to stand up on his hind legs to reach some berries higher up. I sometimes call Tanner my little grizzly bear since he has a rather bushy B&T dapple coat. He kind of reminds me of a little silver tip grizzly. I guess he was living up to that name the way he was going after the berries last night. Now if Colorado just had a salmon run we could see how he reacted to that<IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm42.gif" border=0> .
Frank had a great time just running around the large back yard (we live in a townhome with a small 20'x30' yard. He also found an old tennis ball to pay with. Before we left I let Tanner run with frank and check out the yard.
