What does you dachsie do that really makes you smile or warms your heart?

My little dachsie sits on the bed while I am putting on my make-up in the morning waiting for me to powder her nose. It is so cute how she sits patiently until I put the puff to her snout a couple of times then tell her she is beautiful. Anytimne she hears me rattle the make up box she is right there.

What does your doxie do that warms your heart?

see the otter story in this section for one instance.
(the powerpuff story was simply adorable btw.)
mortimer will rub her head on me. i think she is really trying to clean her eyes out on my shirt, but she looks so cute, i just sit and take it.
chester hates to get up early with me. i will wake up and tell him to get up and he takes his time stretching on the bed. then he rolls on his side and waves his paw at me, like he's inviting me back to bed! he hates to be woken up. if we are on the couch and i make him lift his head up, he drops it right back down again.

Every morning when I get ready for work, I hear Opal howling in her crate when she hears me open our door. I go down to open her crate door and let her out and she does this stretch thing that never ceases to warm my heart, where her fat little back legs stretch out completely, tail smacking the sides of the crate, and her tounge comes out as she yawns. I then pick her up and kiss her, while she puts her paws on my face for about five minutes every single day. She is always happy to see me like I have been gone for days or something.

The not so cute thing, but still cute in a weird way, that she is currently doing is raiding our laundy baskets and taking out the underwear, and hiding it under the spare bed room futon. Its hysterical to see this tiny dog dragging undergarments of all types down the hall way like she has just made a kill in a Badger hole....Nutty dog.

If I have folded laundry on the bed, she STILL steals the underwear!

Our Rusty is an underwear thief as well. We were out last Saturday with our daughter and our nephew. We came home and there - in the back yard - 2 mini's playing tug of war with our nephew's underwear. He was so embarrassed and of course our daughter and her friend had the biggest laugh. I don't think Konrad is a dashie lover anymore. It was the funniest thing to see though.

Yes Stacy, those cute ways that they stretch those little legs - often leaving a little space underneath for air flow purposes.
I love the way they try to talk.
Danny also loves to be powdered just like a baby. We started this due to his dachsie underarm "elephant" skin and he can't wait.
Hmmm...you know what's also cute - when you're tickling them and they lift their leg a little so you can reach that inner thigh.
Bliss!

Tater does what we call the *Dinner Dance*, where he runs in and out and in and out of his crate while I am making his dinner. It is soooo funny! It's almost like he hasn't eaten in days...and he knows he might not get to eat again for another week! "Hurry, hurry, hurry! Give my my FOOD!"

The other thing that he does that just tickles us to no end is when he chews on our hair...mine, my husband's, the kid's...he's not particular.

Such funny antics. I wonder what it is with underwear. Mine trys to snatch them up too.

I thought of another funny, Grace like to play chase me. My house is open with a circular pathway and she loves to run through, skidding across the kitchen floor when we chase her. She suddenly turns and charges you barking, then puts it in reverse and goes the other way. It is so comical to watch this little 7 lb dachsie chase my 180 lb 14 yr old son as though she could tackle him.

I've enjoyed reading all the other tales, keep in coming.

We have a pecan business and our little Dashie thinks she owns every pecan that falls from our trees and even the ones our customers bring in. If she is in the shelling plant and someone brings in an order to be shelled, she leaves them alone until after they come off the scale and are marked with the customer's name. Then they are hers. She will not allow the customer to touch them again. She sits on top of the bag when possible and when she can't get on top, she guards the front of the bag. She will allow us to move the pecans but if one of the other dogs gets too close she charges them and lets them know in no uncertain terms that all pecans belong to her.http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/nuts.gif<FONT face="Book Antiqua">Text</FONT f><FONT COLOR="Purple">Text</FONT c><FONT COLOR="Purple">Text</FONT c>

Chloe is hilarious! She does two totally bizarre things that crack me up.
1. She has to be on the bathroom counter right next to me while I blow dry my hair. She just sits there and watches me every morning. She sits on the floor and cries until I put her up there.
2. She has learned how to open my sock & underwear drawer all by herself and oftentimes we will come in and there is a big mess of socks and underwear all over the floor and she is in the drawer digging away. It's ridiculous. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/dizzy.gif
I love her so much!

Like other vacuums, our dogs loathe the polaris that clean sweeps the pool. I can't even turn it on if they're around.
Today I heard some commotion at the pool - I had turned on the polaris thinking the kids were back on the deck. I went up to the pool to find a still running polaris wrapped twice around a tree and Danny trying to bite the hose and the water to kill the monster. Let's hope the thing still works. -g<IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm25.gif" border=0>

LuLu loves to play "spin the LuLu" by laying on her back and putting her feet up to be spun. Of course the problem is that she doesn't want to stop doing it, even when she gets dizzy.

Tess likes to sing(Howl) and wrap her legs around your neck to give dachsie kisses.

Kibby and Stinker are just my love girls, though Stinker does love to shell pecans and leave the shells for me to step on. Kibby will take on any floor dragon any where.

Oh the pleasure of warm, clean laundry fresh from the dryer. Rufus is one happy dog when he gets the chance to jump in the laundry basket with clothes fresh from the dryer.

He knows the sound of the dryer door closing and will wait for me at the top of the stairs so he can get in his ready to jump in position. We cover him up with the towels and he is just happy as a clam. Of course it does make it hard to fold the clothes and sometimes I find myself tyring to sneak by him so that I can make a clean get away and fold the clothes with out having to pull them out from under him.!

These are such cute stories! Suego, I love the powderpuff one.

Annie is such a gentle little thing, she hardly ever does anything bad. When she feels she isn't getting enough attention, though, she'll grab a slipper or a shoe and run around the house banging it on the floor until we notice. Her day is made when I tell her she's the naughtiest dog I've ever seen. (It's in my interest to convince her there's nothing worse she could do!)

But Suego, isn't your powder puff getting kind of um, <IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm6.gif" border=0> damp?

And how I can relate to that sneaking about the house so as not to clue the little monsters in to whatever task is at hand. <IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm12.gif" border=0> <IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm30.gif" border=0>

<FONT COLOR="Yellow">Heh,heh.. and your Rufus tries to do the same thing at my house! My clothes are never warm though and when he jumps into the basket thinking that it's going to be a nice pile of "warmies", he looks at me with accusing eyes, seeming to say, "they're COLD! Where's the warmies?"</FONT c>

Georgette, Suprisingly Grace doesn't lick the puff. I only lightly pat the top of her head and between her eyes. She just blinks and then grabs an old mascara tube to gnaw on while I finish applying my makeup.

I tell you, I'm so in love with my doxie that I'd marry her if I could. (LOL) <IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm27.gif" border=0>
