Was wondering if you give your puppers supplements and if so what do you give?

Mine get what my husband refers to as a "sunshine platter" 500 mg of Ester-C wrapped in a teenie bit of cream cheese, a tbsp (okay heaping tbsp) of pumpkin, some kefir or plain yogurt then I mix into it 500 mg of Glucosamine & 500mg of Chondroitin and a scoop of Mrs. Allen's Shed stop which contains the following ingredients (Flax, Lecithin, Soybean, Safflower, Sunflower, Olive, Cod Liver Oils, Natural Flavors, Garlic and Zinc. )

All 3 get 1/2 of tab of Synovi MSM and a 3 V cap each night, they think it is their bedtime snack. Daisy also gets 500 mg of ester c per day and Discus Compositium, which is a homeopathic preparation that her holistic vet gave her for her back. Plus they get either raw green beans or pumpkin each day as a special treat.

[QUOTE=rustydaisymom]All 3 get 1/2 of tab of Synovi MSM and a 3 V cap each night,

Just an FYI...the 3v caps are essential fatty acids. They are kind of pricey. You would do better off with FISH oil, much cheaper. You can get this anywhere vitamins are sold.

Gunner gets a pet vitamin, 500 mg of Ester-C, one fish oil caplet. Petunia gets 250 mg of Ester-C, one fish oil caplet and 1/2 of a pet vitamin in about another week I will give her 500 mg of Ester-C. I plan on adding glucosamine/chondratine also to both of their diet.

Mine gets a snackie called Sea Jerky that is glucosamine/chondritin with sea cucumber. It is for his recently diagnosed mild form of hip displasia. The best part about it is he likes taking it b/c it looks/smells like beef jerky and he almost bites my fingers along with it! I am sure it is good for his back at well.

I have two senior dogs. Gunther is a twelve year old dachsie and Jake, a 17 or so year old rat/fox terrier. I give both of them a liquid combination of chondroitin/glucosamin. The product is called Synflex. It's for Hoomans too. It contains a few other ingredients- I believe yucca and the omegas. Not cheap but my dogs' activity levels and health speak for the product. ( We had almost put Jake to sleep several months ago-but started him on Rimadyl as well as the Synflex. He's running around, wagging his tail, going to his old perch at the top of the couch.)
