I was wondering if anyone had a pic of a wheaten dachshund?I know they are more common in wirehairs but they also can be in the smooths and longs.I just got a new puppy last weekend and she is a smooth and was classified as a wheaten..Thanks

Wheaten is a wire color and it is not in smooths or longs. If it was, it might be called cream but that would be erroneous, too. Wheaten is the light red color in wires. The hairs are banded with different shades of red with the lighter color being most predominant. There can be black hairs interspersed, there can sometimes be a saddle depending on the timing of the stripping, etc.
But whomsoever labeled your smooth as a wheaten I would have to disagree with. Could you tell us what colors and coats the parents and grandparents are? I'm going to assume that your new child is a red of some variation.
