I am trying to figure out the Kong size for Sofie. It's time she starts working for her cheese instead of just being handed it left and right. She is 8.5 lbs and the small one looks too small. But then original looks huge. What size do you give yours and how much does your pup weigh?

My Harley is a wopping 18 lbs now. :wow: (Mini my butt! )
He still likes his small and puppy kongs. I was thinking of upgrading to a larger one but haven't yet.

I still use the small sizes the most often. I switched to the black kongs for a few weeks after getting Gee- since she didn't really get the point of Kongs for awhile- and liked to destroy them! The black kongs don't come in small, though- but the smallest size (medium? large?) wasn't any trouble for my pack. She's fine with the red Kongs again, though- and the small ones are just right for a twice a day treat- and it's a little more tricky for them to get the treats out of them. :)

Gigi is 10lbs now. And she use the red medium. I think it's the perfect size. She loves her kong. :)

Peaches just went from the medium puppy kong to the extreme (black) large or XL (can't remember what size) kong. She is an agressive player and chewer though. Plus she likes toys that are too big for her. She is 10 lbs.
She plays with her kong even if it isn't stuffed.

Napoleon has the smallest one and he is 9lbs. Though we have a medium and an XL in our house as well and he loves to grab those. :) I like the small because then I can fill it a couple times a day and he won't get too much in the way of treats.

I bought the puppy kong for Schatz and the next bigger size for my beagle. Schatz takes the bigger one but it is not much of a challenge for him because he has such a long skinny tongue! He just reaches right in and empties it in no time. The puppy kong was pushed under the china cabinet never to be found again! Schatz weighs 13 lbs.

do you guys usually stuffed the kong? i usually just cover the side with PB and put some treats in it, so they will stick on the side. i don't want to give gigi too much treats.

We have 4 kongs, 1 of the puppy size blue chewy ones and 3 of the mediums (one of each color). At 15 lbs and 7 months old our "mini" :D seemed to be ready to graduate to mediums and there he's stayed. We fill the kong with Red Barn dog food (in the sausage roll packages) cut into 1/2" cubes and glued/packed in with cream cheese or peanut butter. On the days he gets a Kong he gets "half rations" on his night-time meal so as to keep his buff and youthful figure

I had a puppy kong that I had bought last year for Dandy when she was a pup and she had an erstwhile interest with it. However, with the addition of Dewey to our pack, I was trying desperately to find toys that would last long to feed his obsession. I had actually bought a medium sized regular kong for our Dane foster, but Dewey took to hording all of the toys in his crate. I finally found the puppy kong decapitated one day (one whole layer ripped off) and had to retire it. He is now happily finding a way to decapitate the medium sized kong, but I think it's more challenging since he can't stuff it all in his mouth. And he's a good 15 lb doxie. I may have to invest in the kong max (black one) or that other toy made from the tire material.

sam has a generic type of kong...its prob a small one..he tosses it around and pushes it with his nose. im never sure if i have it set right for him to get the food. it sort of falls out after he moves it around...is it suppose to be hard for them to get out?? i cant imagine putting p. butter or yogart in his...it would prob be a mess(but then im never sure about alot of things! hahah!

my boy Oscar decapitated a small Kong. I got him a large one just a few days ago. He is 17.5 lbs. So far he loves it. I do not pack as much in as my friend does for her shepard. I put in a treat or 2 and some kibble. I may try carrots in the kong.

Tasha, at 13.5 lbs, prefers the bone shaped kong--which had holes to fill at each end. She likes that better than the traditional kong, but we have a medium red one that we give her now and again.
