Echo, my 5 year old Rottweiler has been very sick over the last 2 months. Today she was even worse and could barely move or breathe, we took her into the vet and they did more tests on her only to find out she has lung cancer, there are 2 large tumors on her right lung and one a bit small on her left. There's nothing we could've done to save her so she's now at the RB:(:(:( She was such a wonderful dog, she always found a way to amek us laugh or smile and did anything to please us. She transformed alot of people who were afraid of Rotties into huge Rott lovers! SHe was jsut a great all around dog and I sjut can't believe she's gone.....

I'm so sad to read this... You did the best thing for Echo. I had to make a similar decision on my Golden almost 2 years ago. :hugs1:

I am sorry for you loss. It seems so senseless to lose one so young. She imprinted you and your family and so in a sense she is still with you and will always be there when you need her. Take care and know that we are here for you.

Oh no! :(
I've adored Echo since your first posts of her- such a gorgeous girl. Rotties are SO prone to cancerous tumors- it's just awful. I'm so sorry that she was one of the sweeties with such a short lifespan. But I bet she made a lot of people smile in those five years. :)
Thank you for sharing her with us- and having the strength to let go when it was the loving thing to do.

Our shoulders are broad so feel free to lean or cry as needed. I've never really had a chance to get to know any rotties first hand but have very fond memories on one that use to live along one of our walking paths. The first time I had my shy mill mother Aggie out walking that we happened to walk past the rottie's yard here comes this charging large dog towards the fence I figured Aggie would panic but as soon as the rottie got to the fence she put her head down low in line with Aggies head and she walked silently along side us the entire length of her yard. Every time we would walk she would greet us and walk slowly next to aggie as if to tell her hey I see your scared but I would like to be your big buddy and watch out for you. The compassion that rettie showed Aggie has won them a place in my heart. IT sounds like Echo was a lot like our rettie friend.

I am so far behind the curve. I rarely venture into this area as it breaks my heart when we lose one of our special ones. :( Please know that Echo will surely be missed by us all as well as by you and yours. I am so very sorry to hear that she has left us all so soon but know that she is just waiting around the bend for the day that we will be reunited. All our love.
