View Full Version : What do you think about a SWAP forum?

I have been thinking that it would be nice to have a place to post used equipment and dog clothes that didn't work out or got too small. I myself have several harnesses and inexpensive t-shirts and a couple lightly used dog beds that I would be willing to post. The items are just things I have that the kids wouldn't use or are collecting dust.
I'm not talking about an ebay type thing; just a little space to post things and if anybody wants it we work out the details between ourselves.

When I joined in July, I would have swore there was something like that on this board, but maybe I am confused??? :dizzy:

I think it sounds like a great idea. Definitely something I could use.

The thing we might run into is that some people may take it as a forum to sell items which would violate the Terms Of Service for the DBB... But us Mod types can certainly debate and discuss it. :)

I understand what you mean about selling things. That is why I thought a swap or trade system might be better. I wouldn't want anything to change the friendly atmosphere of DBB. :)

Mark and Annie (Willsana) did remind me that we used to have a DBB Trader forum which was dropped because it was never used. So instead of setting up another forum if there is something that you would like to offer to other DBB'ers for trade or just giving away the Miscellaneous Forum would be the best place.

Yes, we did try the DBB trader, but it was hardly used so it was dropped. That was maybe a year ago? I"m not sure.

Thank you for bringing that point up. It encouraged me to reread the Terms of Service. I do love the relaxed and supportive atmosphere of this board, and wouldn't want to disturb that. :) If the original forum wasn't used enough, it could be a sign. However, things of "purely swapping" might fall under Misc. for the time being.
Our local dachshund rescue group has a fundraising garage sale every year, which is a great time for me to clean out my closets and look for any "tax write-offs!" ;) It's an alternative to think about.
