Looks like a standard Wheaton Wire to me :) There was one in Bridget Jones's Diary during the Christmas Caroling scene that was SO cute :D

Yes! Person # 3 to agree with me. I posted the picture on the Matchbox Twenty message board (the boy in the pic is Rob Thomas, lead singer of mbt) and only 1 person thought it was a Dachshund. Most of the others thought it was a dachshund mix or a terrier.

Looks a LOT like my Ripley, who though she may be a bit of a mix, she's totally a Dachshund at heart. I'd lay my 3 cent bet on that being a Dachsie in the pic... or a first-generation mix, at "worst".

Since the boy is not that large (however the pic is small for me to see <g>) I don't see why it couldn't be a mini either BUT it looks like a mini wire to me...wheaten of course which is what a lot of pet owners want....their next comment whenever I had one of mine with me was 'oh she's so soft!' Not the comment most wire owners want to hear <img border="0" alt="[Circle]" title="" src="graemlins/circle.gif" />

Prob not a mini. The pic was in 83 so to be a mini it had to weigh even less than now. I personally think dach mix though.

Maybe I should have said 'of miniature breeding'? Many mini's go oversize, I know my own homebred ones do. Could be because they don't read that darn standard very often...if ever.
:D :
As I said, the pic is small.

If contacting famous people were easy, I'd send Rob (the boy in the pic) a letter and ask but it's pretty hard to do that.
