I was just checking out the Hearts United web site and noted at least two new dachshund additions. One is about 4 a mill rescue you can check her out at http://www.hua.org/lookhtml/Deenie.html Anther is a special needs dachshund only five months old blind and has limited hearing due to poor breeding practices. You can check her out at http://www.hua.org/lookhtml/Strudel.html A third dachshund I think (not noted so not 100% sure) is a senior boy who's family decided he was too old to deal with (he's 12-14) and his story can be found at http://www.hua.org/lookhtml/Fritz2.html
There are several other dachshunds available at Hearts United. If you are looking for a rescue and having no luck locally these are decent people to deal with. I believe DRNA has worked with HUA in the past.
I wish I could give all these little guys and gals homes but two is all I can handle right now.
