I was VERY proud of the boys! There were a total of 14 long dogs there at the event. I think we out numbered the greyhouds! I seen two news reports so far. I am waiting for 11PM for the evening news. I think we did well as a whole to bring attention to the Mills in Pennsylvania.

FIVE Harrisburg news stations carried the march! Yolanda and I were interviewed and Goose was on TV on three of the stations!
On channel 8 WGAL, the reporter is owned by a doxie and we got GREAT coverage!<IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm30.gif" border=0>

Congratulations Mandy, Bart, David, Shenn, Jake, Augie, Buddy, Eric, Heather, Yolanda and all the wonderful souls who made the PAWS March a success. You probably don't realize that I did get there - it seems that the powers that be decided to close Rt 78 without informing moi ahead of time, sooooo, there I was stuck in traffic in Allentown for almost 3 hours. I got there just in time to sprint (well my version) up the Capitol steps as Lee Wheeler was proclaiming "We're watching you" to the Pa legislature and the crowd was chanting, "NO MORE MILLS". Well at least I got to meet Lee very briefly.
I'm so proud of you for getting all of that news coverage. You really made us proud. And David those photos (on dachsie.org) are fantastic. I love the dachsie mugging for the camera and the man kissing the rottweiler. The dogs were all so cute and the day held up - just a few drops. It was the nicest crowd, don't you think? But darn, I wanted to buy T-shirts and all. See you in July - Georgette

Very good job you guys! Wish I could have been there. That is great that the event was on the News.http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif
So what is the story with Goose? I assume he's formerly a Mill puppy. I checked at the DRNA site but didn't see info on him.

From FOX 43, Harrisburg--------------------
Puppy mill protest in Harrisburg
--------------------
April 21 2001
DAUPHIN COUNTY -- It is one of Pennsylvania's nastiest words-puppy mills. On Saturday, paws of pooches pounded the pavement hoping to save others from their terror. Several dogs and their owners jammed Riverfront Park in Harrisburg hoping to shed light on the puppy mill dogs face. For example, in attendance was a Datschund called Goose that was born and raised in a puppy mill. Goose does not have a lower jaw or any teeth. Puppy mill owners are now practicing a technique called de-barking which often injuries the pet. This is a process in which "They ram a steel rod down the dogs throat and smash it with a hammer to smash the voice box, it usually breaks the dogs jaws," claims Marilyn Faugher of DE Valley Yorkshire Terior Club. Members of various dog organizations hope that Saturday's rally will encourage lawmakers to enforce various anti-puppy mill laws.

This is just fantastic! I am so impressed!
Hopefully the messege got across!
Great job all!
I am sure the pups would be very grateful for all that was done.
