Hello all,
The Colorado Dachshund Rescue Weenie Roast date has yet to be set for this year. In recent years it has been either late May or early June. They are waiting to hear back from Oscar Mayer about the possibility of having their Weenie Mobil make an appearance. I'll let you know when a date is set.
I think the record attendance was in 1999 when 158 dachshunds and their people were in attendance. It's a fun day with CDR providing hot dogs and hamburgers and everyone else bring a dish pot luck style. There are fun activities for dogs and people alike. Some small items are raffled off and a donation jar is out all day. The event has a two point goal. It tries to raise general awareness of Colorado Dachshund Rescue and their goals. It also helps to bring in some funds to carry on the work of the group.
When a date is announced I'll post it here. Perhaps someone on the board will have a Colorado vacation planned near that time and be able to attend.
