Last year I believe there were 150 Dachshunds in attendance (since they are like Lays Potatoe Chips and no one can stop at just one, the Dachshunds out numbered the Hoomans by several!) This year it is September 16th at the Kickapoo State park near Danville, Illinois. I hope we can have Many Many more Dachshunds and Hoomans in Attendance this year. Missy Ann and Milo won 2nd Place in the costume contest. Missy Ann was the Queen of Course and Milo being the Joker that he is was Missy Ann's Jester. First Place went to one of my first rescues I had. I made her a Minnie Pearl outfit and she took first place! Hrumph!.......Figures! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Dachshundrsq, would you please give more information on the meeting near Danville, Il. We are just a couple of hours from there and would love to attend. When, where what, what is happening? This is the first time I have seen anything close to our area. Thanks Flossie

The time is very near for the Midwest Dachsie Fest. It is Saturday September 16th at Danville, Illinois. Last year I believe there was about 150 dachshunds in attendance. It will be at the Kickapoo State Park. It is a little hard to find as it is not right off the highway as it appears but there are signs, you just have to watch for them. I went my first time last year but it has been going on for several years. They always welcome new people and their Dachsies. They have a costume contest, a rescue parade They have a bobbing for weeners contest and this year they are to have paw painting. People bring covered dishes or snacks, deserts, and it is a Great get together if anyone can make it.

What a great time this was. It was the first time we had attended. As you would expect the people were so friendly and the pups just beautiful. We got our second little girl there. She was needing a home and as her foster mom and I were planning on attending we met there. She is such a beauty. A smooth red tweenie named Ginger. It was a truly fun day and we met a lot of very nice people. My only problem now seems to be I want a long haired pupper, a wire haired pupper, and more smooth puppers. Oh no this love for dachshunds is getting worse. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/dizzy.gif

I had a Great Time! Missy Ann won first place in the costume contest, she loves to dress up and always struts her stuff. I also got a new puppy while I was there. She is a Little Wire Show Girl. Can hardly wait to get her in the ring!

Missy Ann was a sweetie with her sunflower costume. We even spoke with you for a few minutes which tells you nothing since there were so many people visiting with each other. Missy Ann is certainly a beauty.
