Because I so believe in this board, the people and Jean's great effort, I promote it where and when possible.
Did a home visit last week with a delightful dachsie owner (2) about to adopt 2 more. He, his house/yard, and his dogs all had the right stuff. There is an "up" side to all the sad things we run into.
Anyway, I know that if he arrives and mentions Jack, Juliette, Bogey and Margo, you will all give him a warm welcome.
Individually there isn't a whole heck of a lot we can do to eliminate the evils we run across. Collectively, we can be very effective. Our response to the Wyoming tragedy is a case in point.
Time still limited, trying to play catch up by reading the posts. After Aug. 18, I shall return more often.
Love to all from Greta the Stout and Baylea the soon to be "It Girl" via,
Roxane

Hey, Roxane--there you are! Nice to see you back from your pineapple adventures http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/wink.gif... I recommend the board to all my home visit folks too--so far, no takers, but I'm still hopeful.

The "It Girl!" I LOVE IT!!!!

It'S always great to hear of more homes being found. I hope we see many of those adopting showing up here on the board. I would personally like to say a big than you to everyone who is or has been involved with rescue. I know it's a labor of love. I know I recommend rescue be it breed specific or general all bred, even the local shelters who try to do their best with their limited resources. Also a special thank you to any vets out there who contribute their services at either for free or at a reduced cost to breed rescue.
