We had a great time at the field and agility events... we left last Tuesday and just got back today.

On the first day of Field trials Badger took NBQ in the All Age Dogs class. NBQ means Next Best Qualifier and is awarded to the dog coming in 5th place.... Not bad for the large number of dogs (approx 30). He gets a nice ribbon.. but no points.. but at least we got Something!!

Merry also earned the second leg towards her Jumpers with Weaves novice title Monday and came in 4th place!!! (needs 2 qualifying scores)She had a great run and did her weave poles on the first try!!!

We had a great time and met a lot of great people and dogs from all over the country!!

Zandra shold have some brags too.. but I'll let her tell them.

That's awesome!! Mucho congrats!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: It's too bad I couldn't have come down. I really don't think Napoleon would do well at Earthdog but maybe we'll give it a shot sometime!

Thanks! I forgot to mention that Merry did her best attempt at Junior Earthdog to date. In Jr. the dog has 30 seconds to go though a 30 ft underground tunnel.. with turns... to get to the rat.. then they have to bark, scratch or otherwise actively try and get the rat.

Merry made it to the rats in 43 seconds... this is the first time she has done that without encouragement..... of course once she got there she just giving the rats the 'death stare' and not working... but at least we had the break though... she now knows she can get to the end of the tunnel on her own.

Courtknee.. DFW has an Eathdog test in the fall.. bring ND and enter the intro class to see if he would have and intered. ... it is a lot of fun for the dogs.

Congrats to Badger and Merry! You certainly have a talented fur family!
I think Schatz would be very good at Junior Earth Dog and decided to look into it. I checked on the AKC website and there is nothing held in my area. What's up with that! Think my hubby would understand if I told him we have to move so Schatz can have a try at it?

Now Karen, do you not remember that the Dachshund Death Stare normally gets them whatever they want? Why should they have to waste effort - "barking" when The Look should be enough?! Congrats on the wins!!
Next time our girl will know that those :devil1: rats must be barked at and will lower herself to do so!!

yes I do have a couple brags

Lili got her first leg in Senior Earthdog. I will post a picture later. While she NQed both days in agility, she also did extremely well and only missing Q by a 3 points.

Sophie, well, she got the most laughs at the agility trials but had fun and that is what counts.

Karen we are deducting major geek points for camera forgetting. Super mods must bring cameras to all events in anticipation of possible board pictures. That is in the agreement didn't you know? Bob didn't you tell her? Chrissie you didn't tell her either? I cannot believe it.

Congratulations sounds like a great event.

This is me releasing Badger with his bracemate.. you can barely see Badger behind the Standard Wire he was braced with.. I am in the White Hat.
