I was just wondering who was planning on going or trying to go to the Ohio meet-up in July?
Also, can anyone recommend a pet friendly hotel? I will be travelling with 2 and 2 are harder to sneak in... :D

Me and my mom (ajsmom) plan on being there with Austin and AJ in tow.
Sorry don't know much about pet friendly hotels, but there are more people that can probably help you out.

very hard this year, to get there.
I am taking off time for DDF and then again for our daughters wedding.
Then I hope I can take a few days and fly into Ohio.
I will be dogless due to flying but would love to meet everyone.
Besides its Lori and I's Birthdays too. :partytim: :partytim:
Unfortunately we just had a HUGE financial setback that may be quite a while overcoming. We'll do the best we can.

I'm planning on going. I went to my first one last year and enjoyed it throroughly. Besides, that was when I first met Lori, Dana, and a few other folks who I'm sad to say, I don't remember their names.

Hi Janet,
I just booked the Sheraton, Akron (http://www.sheratonakron.com/), it's $119 a night but pets stay free, however you have to register them and they will NOT clean your room unless you call down and stay in the room while they are cleaning.
I see the rates are going up quickly, I JUST reserved mine this afternoon and now I just went and looked and they are $124 a night :dizzy:
heeheehee, I'm goint through their website...they have a martini menu...Rafi is in SO much trouble :partytim: :partytim: :partytim:

I wish I could go- I said this before, but it's my WEDDING EVE!!!! I'm getting married that weekend. I briefly entertained the idea of going and driving back to be home in time for the ceremony, but we all know that's a bad idea. Again, I will miss out on a group meetup! I am so sad. But I have a very good reason!

Heide, you will not be dogless...I will share Tammy with you :D We have birthdays to celebrate too! Yippee! I will bring a little something..to help celebrate!
LISA, you might want to consider switching hotels to the one that Lori mentioned. It's half the price of the one you booked. I'm calling today to book my room.
Mark, I'm sorry to hear that you have had some financial setbacks, life sucks sometimes. You and Jean started all of this and I love this Board, and I would dearly love to meet you both.

Hmmmmmmmm I'm just wondereing why my Canadian friends did not inform or invite me to this Dachsie Bash?????
I won't say who they are but Pixel, Pogo, Oliver, Tammy, Otto and Hijinx
might have something to say about their good buddy Casey and future buddy Sophie not being there!!!!
I wonder when they will tell me to book my hotel ????????????
If anyone of you fellow Dbber's can tell me exacty when and where this event is taking place......... We might consider going! :wavey:

Hmmmmm At first look of the Infodog show calendar, it looks like this weekend could be open!! It is my son's 21st birthday on the 10th. I don't know if he will have a bash planned or if I would be invited...LOL You know Mom might be a drag. Maybe I will leave him the keys to the house, some spending money and he can take care of the puppers that stay home. Looks like I need to mark my calendar.
I am STILL astounded that you pick the HOTTEST, STICKIEST month of the year to have a Dachshund Picnic...WHAT was you thinking!!

The GUILT...THE GUILT, please it's overwhelming!!! I thought you KNEW! :faint:
Here is a link to the event Picnic (http://www.winc.com/picnics/) It is July 9th and we're going to stay at the Sheraton, and if you can come down, I will be found at the Martini Bar, going through their menu :partytim:
It would be great if you, Doug and your Puppers could make it, then Sophie could see her Auntie Lori again too!
We're driving down on Friday, picnic on Saturday and home again on Sunday. It is about a 6 1/2 hour drive, it should be a blast and will be even BETTER if you can make it :hugs1:

Ummmmm I believe that would be one WOODY! and a REAL Cutie too! hehehe :D

OMG Woody was so tiny! Cute cute cute!
Is it advisable to bring one of those Xpens to this type of event? Or is it just mostly puppies that people put in there?
onebigmickeyfan
04-07-2005, 01:24 PM
We had multiple xpens linked together so the pups were free to cruise just a bit. The more xpens the bigger play area all the kids get. And bring the big sun umbrellas we hook them till the kids get shade too.

as of now Lori. What to bring to Ohio Meetup. :D
Dachshundrsq
04-07-2005, 01:32 PM
If I am coming I will be bring at least 4 x-pens. They are GREAT for the puppers so they don't have to be a puppet on a string all day long.
Bring toys, water, doggie beds, a big wallet full of money (gosh the stuff to be had a dachsie picnic!), Camera, Lots of Digital space on said camera or lots of rolls of film, costumes for the puppers...etc...etc...etc

We have one x pen we can bring! Oh boy! I am getting excited about the picnic already!
SirOliversMom
04-07-2005, 01:39 PM
Beckie, IF you are coming? You just have to come!! :bounce:
Humm, I have a couple of sun umbrellas I will bring too. I hope Darren has his new company van by then...we will need the space.

Well if I come and bring any dogs at all the x-pen is a MUST. Can you see me with all the puppers on leads and I am tied in knots with each dog going into all different directions. I can see a cartoon made up like that :D

We plan on attending the picnic and will look forward to seeing all of you. We live in the Columbus Ohio area so its not too bad a drive for us. I have wanted to go the past couple fo years when i learned of it but always had a conflict with our Civil War events but this year we can come and enjoy! Peaches I am looking forward to seeing you after reading of your escapades. You sound so fun! Ok i admit to wanting to see all the little cuties and will be in dachsie heaven! :bounce:
I would love to be able to make this.... :circle:

Dachsies and Civil War activities. You have my attention. What kind of Civil War activities? We went to Gettysburg a couple of years ago and to the Chickamauga and Chattanooga Battlefields last year and now I really like the Civil War stories. So do you do re-enactments?

Yep we do reenactments all summer. Keeps us pretty busy. My husband and I had a Civil war era style wedding 3 years ago with members of the Battery we belong to in attendance. We are with the 1st Ohio"Statehouse" Light artillery Battery A We won't be in the Cinci area this season but will be doing various Ohio events. I am looking forward to the dachsie picnic and to meeting you and any others from this board.

and I'm hoping to go too. I just never know this far in advance! But Moose says he wants to go be a show-off...and Winnie & Oscar miss all their dachsie buddies....so, I'm sure gonna try. Besides...I think Kyle might choke me if we don't go again!

I am definately going to have to go. Got to meet Beckie in person to thank her for my little Girrl, who is SUCH a good girl! And to see everyone else again and meet Peaches and Chrissie and Janet and all!
Last year it took me a week and a half to recover, so I was thinking of passing it by unless I could find someone this year to drive me (no luck last year, can you believe people not wanting to see all those dachsies!). Now I must go, just have to be sure nothing else scheduled afterwards.
Bob, I didn't see any handicapped parking last year, so guess there isn't any?
Lori, Yolanda, Beckie, you may be there early. Let me know when you are going to be there and I'll arrive shortly after. If I arrive early, maybe I will be able to park closer.

Anita,
I bet Chrissie and I will be there early with the boys... You can just come by us, unload, and I will move your car. I won't have the same problem getting it into reverse like I did last time :D

I will have Mark grab a couple of the orange cones from work and we'll block you a spot close by of your very own and hold it till you get there.

Thank you so much, you guys, you are the best!!! (Of course we all know that, but wanted to say it.)
Will you be in the same spot as last year?
