Kris (mom to Willi) and I are really hoping to plan a dachshund picnic in Ohio, like we had last year. It will probably be the same park we had it last year, sort of near Dayton.

If any of you live close enough and would like to come, please let me know what weekend would be best in late september or early Ocotber, and whether you prefer a saturday or sunday. (It will not be the weekend of the IL picnic, which is september 8.)

I know That we hope Isobel and Mary will be interested in doing it again, and we sure hope that Mark and his family will be able to join us this year.

I hope to set the date this week.

Thanks!

All dachshund lovers and their furkids will be welcome, whether they are members here or not.

If its near Dayton we'd love to come. October is best for us due to a wedding and a Sunday is best as my husband frequently works Saturdays. Should be able to get at least 2 of the 6 girls to go.

It looks like Saturday October 6 will be the best date from th responses I have received. Please pencil in that date for now.

We would love to have members of dachshund rescue groups present as well with literature on their groups and if possible their fosters too.

Addy's mom I hope you will still be able to come, but those that are traveling a bit will need it to be on a Saturday.
By the week's end We will have firmed up the date and I will make more definite plans.

We had a great time last year. I hope that more people can make it and join the fun this time around. I know Conrad and Finnious will love meeting more dachsies!

It will be held at John Bryan State Park.

Here is a link for more information on the park and its location - there is a map on the site.

Camp sites are available there for those that would like them and they are $10-14 per site and are first come first serve.

We will likely be at the shelter in the lower picnic area, but I am trying to find out if we could rent the day lodge.

I'm thinking it should be from 11am -5pm or so.

are you allowing rescue groups to come in and fundraise?

Rescue groups are welcome to bring fosters needing homes, information on their group for interested parties, and if they have items to sell as a fundraiser that is also welcome.
