Agility training questions

I have a new puppy and would very much like to get him into some agility trials later down the road. Does anyone have any ideas about the best way to get started. He is only 14 weeks old so we would have to start with the very basics. Also...I live in South Georgia. Does anyone know of any Trials around this area or maybe even North Florida? I would love to go and watch some. None in my area that I know of.

You can go to AKC's website and look for Upcoming Events or some such label. They, the agility trials, can be USDAA or AKC or NADAC sponsored. AKC will post the important information once the application has been submitted and approved. USDAA also has a website. They have their own rules and titles for agility trials and all you have to do is register with them to be able to run their courses. NADAC is the same.

Are there any events on THIS side of the country??(around Washington) I have looked on the AKC website but I haven't had any luck. Belle (my 1 yr old smooth Mini) would do great if there is

yes dachsies do agiilty and racing. However I will tell you that it may be harmful to their backs and it is despised by the Dachshund Club of America and has been since 1994.

Personally I think it's okay but obviously a lot of people think otherwise. I don't care let them think what they want to think.
