Hello all,

I received the attached message from my friend at CAPS this morning. She knows I am involved with dachshunds and she had received this plea for help. I know some of you are on the DRNA mailing list and wonder if you could forward the message to them. I would ask Teresa to do so but I know shew most likely wouldn't get my message till this evening. Anyone from CCDR know of a good contact person?

Thanks,

Tom

Subject: "Please help"

To whom it may concern,my name is Jim Evans and I Have a Female "Doxie,Terrier Mix" that my girlfriend found running loose down here in Fresno CA.

We both live in Clovis CA. Next to Fresno. We both live in "side by side "apartments ,and both have two dogs each already. We can't have anymore animals.

"This is what happened". We first brought her a local dog rescue, but the owner wouldn't accept her because she isn't Fixed. Then we brought her to the Fresno S.P.C.A. Then we found out that they Euthanize dogs that aren't brought into them by the owners.

So we went back to the S.P.C.A. and bought her back so that she wouldn't be killed! She is a wonderful Black and white Dachshund /Jack Russell Terrier Mix. She's Got allot of the characteristics of a terrier. I should know,I have two of them!

She is about a year and a half old, and she has had at least one litter of puppies.

Is their any way that you organization can adopt her ? I cannot keep her even though I really want to. Both of us are falling in love with her.

Please contact me at 1-(559) 294-0111 . And my address is 361 W. Santa Ana Ave.,#105 Clovis CA, 93612 .

Thank You. Jim Evans

Tom, I tried to make a copy of the attachment to post to DRNA, but I can't get it to work. Don't know why.

If you can e-mail me the attachment, I'll forward it to DRNA.

Thanks!

Got it, Tom, and posted it to DRNA.

You might want to go to the CCDR website, look up the local representative(s) in California, and e-mail it to those people too.

I did lookup and contact the one C2CDR California rep.. I got a short note back from her saying the matter had been taken care of. I'm not sure what that meant but I hope the little one is either already in a good home or on their way to a foster home till a forever home can be found for them.

After I reported what I had heard back to my friend from CAPS she contacted the person who had the animal and has found out it has been placed with a woman in Hanford CA who does Dachshund and Samoyed rescue.

I figured it's always nice to report good news.
