has gone to the Bridge. He was dumped out in someone's yard, who happened to work at a pizza place that was in a strip mall that a pet store that had an employee who worked with Bassett rescue and knew how to contact DRNA. I picked him up and he was on his way to becoming the regal little prince that was ready to blossom. He was so funny, he had an impish swagger when he had done something particularly cute (in his mind) and he absolutely loved to jump in the shower or bathtub with anyone, he would even nose the shower doors open in case you didn't leave it open for him. He was so full of life and love. His new Mom lived up north and has given him the perfect life - he had more toys than he could play with and his own swimming pool. He was very good to his Mom while she was recovering from a serious illness, he was right there with kisses and cuddles. I have cried for two days over him and for his Mom because I know how hard it is to loose a little one. I am trying to console myself, telling myself that God need someone to liven up bubble bath time at the Bridge and Rex was perfect for the job.

Play well and be happy my sweet Rexie Boy, give my Fritzi a kiss for me and know that you will live on in my heart forever. You were one lucky pupper, you had foster Mom that loved you, and a Mom that loved you more than most people can imagine. We will see you at the Bridge.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss and Rex's mommy's loss. Rex passed away knowing what a wonderful life was like. That is the best gift you could have given him.

You and Lee will be in my thoughts. Rex is probably playing with my little cocker spaniel at the Rainbow Bridge (since they arrived about the same time) :angel1: .

Many DBBers know how tough this is . . . and we extend our sincere condolences to you and family. Hang in there, remember the good times and look forward to the reunion at the Bridge.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I have emailed the site to Lee so she can read. She sent some pictures of their last vacation at the beach. I am adding them to my collection of picture of him and my other fosters.

I am so sorry for your loss and that of the forever family. I know how badly it hurt when one of my fosters died. Four have passed to the bridge that I know of. It doesn't get any easier. At least I know that they passed after knowing love and having a real home and that they are free from pain and suffering.
