Ok, I know a lot of you do NOT have this problem, but since Tasha is not a destuffer, I have two bins full of toys she didn't really like, or has grown bored with. I feel really bad just dumping them in the trash, but wondered if I ran them thru the washing machine if there was a charity that would want them, or if someone on the board might. Or is it too non-hygenic and I should just dump them?

Any of our rescuers want some for the multi-dachsie household? Something to give new fosters? I'm happy to pay postage if someone wants them!! I can run them thru the laundry this week sometime. Just standard plush squeaky toys in a variety of sizes.
Yolanda or Heide or Tonya?

A used dog toy? Apparently scarcity is not an price booster in this commodity.
Are you sure she is tired of them? It has been my expeirence that dogs will take to a toy a year or even more after getting bored with it. Once it has been unused long enough, it becomes like a new toy again. I would just store them and bring them out at a later date.

A nice thought Patrick but I just don't have the storage space in my tiny 450 sq ft apartment! Only two closets and one has three large boxes of dog toys!
And I have tried giving Tasha toys she hasn't seen for a month or two, but she only plays with them briefly.

What about a local rescue or animal shelter? I confess to having several bins of stuffies in the garage while I wait for Will'em to quit destuffing!

I have some also. I had to get to know Oscar to see what he would like, what would fit in his mouth, etc. I have a rubber tire that is simply too big for him. I also have some new toys that I just know he will de-stuff or the parts are too small for a dachsie of his strength. I keep thinking that I will give them to friends who have various breeds but would prefer to donate. We are moving from a small apartment into a house, but there is still a space issue!!!!

Contact your local SPCA ... I doubt they will turn them down as long as they were cleaned first. I donated a lot of my Goldens stuff to the SPCA when she passed and they were happy to have it.

I'm happy to report that I've found good homes for all of my used toys. Thanks everyone!!
