Silly coat question

As most of you know when we got Lucky his coat was very thin in places. Well I have noticed now that his coat is looking healthier he has a few gray spots on his belly and chest what causes this? They would be about the relative size of a dalmations spots.....

Good to hear Lucky's coat is looking better. As for the grey spots, I'm not sure but perhaps those spots could be old injuries and the hair grew back a different color. He is so handsome I left him another bone. ;)
