The next Toronto Meetup is coming up fast and we are joining the Rescue Me Walk-a-thon to support Canine Rescue. If you want to download a pledge form you can get one at http://www.wienerdogrescue.com. If you don't want to bother with the pledge form, just come out to the walk and make a donation right there.

There is going to be the walk, contests, a BBQ and a raffle. We've got some great raffle prizes. Should be a fantastic day and all in support of a Great cause.

It a hard decision Rob! Take Casey to his Obedience class or go on the walk-a-thon? When I read the First line on the post I thought Oh NO! Not another venture set for June 11th!!!! :yikes:

I just love taking Casey and soon Sophie to all the Meet-ups! We missed the last one :(

I will give you my decision a little later. If the walk-a-thon was at 1pm instead of 11 am , I'm sure that we could make it. Casey's classes are from 11-12 pm.

Decisions......Decisions!!!!! :dizzy:

You could still come at 1 if you want, the BBQ will still on on although winding down and there will be still be contests and the raffle. I expect the event will wrap up around 4.

How hard is it to get two doggies over the border for such an event? I'd like to go, but customs is a scary place to me. Especially the thought of Rigby barking her head off at the customs worker.

That would be fantastic if you could come up. I'm sorry I have no experience bringing a dog across the border, but I do know people do it all the time.

Perhaps others have some experience.

Hi Tracy - maybe send a PM to Janet (SirOliversMom) as she recently went through Customs when she collected Tammy & Sophie. She's sure to have good advice, and we'd love to see you! (We had to get our furbabies through Customs when they landed here in Toronto a day after us - coming from South Africa via Holland meant a whole big palava! But that's a whole different story, coming from the U.S. should go very smoothly I'm sure! ;))

(P.S. Hi Rob, I've RSVP'd on the Meetup site - we'll definitely be there! :))

Tracy,

I was wondering if you are going to make it on June 11th. I think we are going to have quite a turnout.

It's a piece of cake getting dogs across the border. We went into the US with Oliver, no one asked for anything and he was right on my lap. Coming back we had 3 with us, and all they did was admire them :D oh yes and they did ask Oliver if he was a Canadian citizen. All you need are their rabies vaccine certificate.
