Was wondering if anyone has heard of any doxie get-togethers in Central NY (Syracuse) or the Finger Lakes? I would love to put something together if anyone is interested. I work for a vet and know of quite a few Doxie owners near me. I hear of many around the US but never here!

YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!! I am in Binghamton. My husband is yearning for a doxie get-together!!!! Let's do it! There are 5 other doxies in my neighborhood that may be interested, too. Check this out, too:

Goldie- What a cutie ... funny thing... sometimes I call Gunther stinka pup. What a bad hoomom I am. Well gonna pull out my "mapquest" and look at what might be a nice median point between Syracuse, Binghamton, and Albany. ... Hmmm. We have a dachsie down the road too. A former neighbor was so impressed with my Gunther that she bought a little chocolate mini... but she moved. My boy is now 12 and half years young.

I think the best place is probably Syracuse ... I think they may even have a dog park there. We definitley should think about doing something like that! Oh and Syracuse has a HUGE HUGE mall. It's fabulous.

Onondaga Park in Syracuse would be a good place as they do have 2 dog parks: 1 for small dogs and 1 for big dogs. It is in the center of the State and they have plenty of hotels, etc. However, we need to find out how much it would cost to rent an area to hold the event. I live in a small town about 30 miles West of Syracuse. Montezuma... near the Montezuma Refuge. There is a big park/area that I could get and just put a deposit down. It has a fenced in ball park. There is an oval track surrounding the park. A pavillion, porta potty, small play area for kids. There is plenty of room for people to set up tents, etc. There are no trees however.
But again. Syracuse is more central. I have looked up other doxie get-togethers and some happen at doxie owner's homes and others at various parks. One has sponsors. Probably to pay for the rental of the park. Let me know what you all think! We could come up with a committee and try to get the ball rolling.

We're in Buffalo, but we'd love to take a drive out that way! Syracuse is a little far, but between Rochester & Syracuse isn't out of the question.

Syracuse is a bit too far for us. Gunther is 12 and half. We could make it- not totally out of the question. Perhpas something in the Albany region would be better for us though. But thanks for trying.

I'm in! We can travel farther than Syracuse, if needed. We are about and hour and half away from Syracuse.

Any ideas as to where to hold it? Like I said we could have it in my hometown but Syracuse is really central. Let me do a search of parks there and I will post them later.
