Has anyone ever heard of Midernoch's Dachshunds?

I pulled out Schatz's pedigree from the AKC and there are several generations of Midernoch's. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about this breeder. Their website says they have many champions. I don't know what the letters after the names mean so if someone can enlighten me I would appreciate it! All of the Midernochs on Schatz's pedigree had a ML or MS at the end of the name.

I believe ML is miniature long and MS is miniature smooth.

But that dont mean anything.
I am sure there will be others that have.

If they are active in showing their dogs as they say they are then Cindi or Becky have probably heard of them

Thanks! I feel so dumb, I should have been able to figure that out! I guess his silky fur can be attributed to having so many ML's in his background. A couple of months ago I mentioned that he had a couple of small places on his coat that seemed dappled. After looking at his pedigree, I see that his Grandmother and Great Grandmother were both dapples.

I do not KNOW them personally but I have shown against their dogs....

They have evidently done well since they have been breeding for 38 yrs and have numerous "Specialty" wins (at Dachshund only shows) and even some Best In Shows.........Just a DREAM of mine for an owner/breeder/handler :D

OK, so you guys know that Schatz had a reading with Diane Roadcap about a month ago. She said things that nobody knew except the people living in my home which made a believer out of me. Well the one thing that she said that I didn't think was correct was that Schatz came from a long line of champions. Sooo I decided to research his paternal grandfather Midernochs Bronson ML. In his line alone there are 15 champions on his 5 generation pedigree. Is it unusual to have that many?

It would all depend on the breeder and how active a breeding / showing schedule they have.

I just looked at Merry's which goes back 3 gens (great grand parents) and 12 out of 14 have their championships.

I've not looked at Bart's or Badgers past their parents.

Thanks Beckie. I also read in the Dog Fancy Dachshund magazine that Ej's Top Gun has sired 121 Champions as of 2004 (Bart being one of them :) and I had nothing to do with that). I'm assuming he's still alive.. he'd be 17 this year... he has had a busy life :D
