At about 10:30 this morning, December 5, 2000, our elegant red lady "Annie", quietly died in her sleep. Rivacrest Annie of Marks Tey was 9 1/2 years old.
She had breakfast, went for a romp on the hill with "Boomer" her Dobe buddy, came in, lay down and took a nap from which she never woke.
We are so glad her morning was a happy one and her passing so peaceful.
The life span of our larger dogs always seems much, much too short.

I'm so sorry to read about your Annie. It's nice to know she had one last romp with her buddy. I know you'll miss her terribly. 9 1/2 years is much to short of time to have with a loved one.

I too am sorry to hear about Annie. Even though you were blessed with 9.5 great years, they are still never enough. I'd always be happy for "just one more day" with them. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Roxane,
I'm so sorry to hear about Annie. It's never easy to say goodbye. Now she is taking a romp in the meadows near the bridge making many new friends to spend her time with till that day many years from now when you will once again get to enjoy her grace and beauty as you cross the bridge together.
Best wishes,
Tom

I am sorry to hear of you loss. Annie was a beautiful girl. I have been privileged to know some Dobes from her bloodlines. If Annie was anything like them she was truly special.

Not really sure my husband understands what we do, how we communicate and how very special the members of this group really are. I am printing out your messages to us. Not only will he see them, but I am going to frame an 8 X 10 of Annie and your expressions of sympathy together.
Thank you so very much,
Roxane

Oh Roxanne, I'm at a loss. I know how hard it was and still is when Punkin died. Dec. 24 will be the one year anniversary of her death and I'm very weepy eyed at this time. Your Annie was a beautiful dog and I'm happy that she was so happy and running around and that she left peacefully. I know she is running around at the bridge with my Punkin and Tom's Aggie waiting for us to come get them. I can go on because I keep this in my heart. I wish I had more comforting words but you are in my thoughts and prayers and I will light a candle for your Annie tonight as I light my Punkins.

Roxane,
I'm so sorry about Annie's passing. It is so sad that our friends live with us such a short time -- but they live forever in our memories.

<FONT face="Courier New"><FONT COLOR="Pink">My, so Annie's soul chose to leave us now during the holiday season and before the new year. I'm thinking of all the wonderful dogs who left us during this year - hoping there's a special bond between them at the Bridge.
No wonder there's no singing in your home, Roxane, Annie took it all with her. Listen, can't you hear them? When we send our love to them, we'll just have to ask that they send back some of their humor and song.
The certainty of knowing that you'll be together again, in time, must make the sorrow much less intense for Annie. How neat for these little spirits to spend some time where "dog" is supreme. It may be hard for us to be joyful right now so we'll just have to follow the example that our pets leave for us.
Of course thinking of you and Annie in the season ahead will be the most natural reverence that I feel. Love to you and your family, Georgette

To All:
My sincere thanks to all of you. Georgette, Annie must have heard you. She sent her dobe pal Boomer a message.Today is a week since she left us. Today, for the first time Boomer responded to the train whistle. He didn't howl as long or as loud as when Annie conducted the chorus, but he did sing. I told Sonja, privately, I believe he was telling me that he is going to get on with his life and I need to do the same.
Rainbows Bridge is a wonderful idea and it has really helped me a lot. Thank you for visiting. Must start getting the decorations not just out of boxes but up around the house.
You are all the greatest,
Roxane and crew
