We want to change his name from Harley.
There are so many Harleys.
Here are a few we have been tossing around.
Gunny (for Andi)
Jake
or how bout Andy for him? Named after the wonderful lady that got him to rescue?
We need some suggestions.
Help :flush:
We can get some going and then pick the best one, after we all vote.
Gives us all something fun to do, in this heat.

I am always looking at current events or movies for names and try to find unusual ones...
I was thinking of Willy Wonka or Star Wars names:
-Augustus
-Wonka
-Anakin
-Kenobi
Or current events...you could name him Graham (Billy Graham) - he kind of looks like a graham cracker color! Or the voice of Tigger just died - name him Winchell or Tigger.
Those are just my wacky ideas!

Razor - for those sharp little teeth?
Wiley - as in Wiley Coyote.
I like Gunny and Tigger too... agree there are way to many Harleys.

Wow y'all are so creative. I have a hard time coming up with names. I always wanted to name them after famous sleuths (I love murder mysteries), like Marlowe (Philip Marlowe), Spenser, Maigret, Poirot. Weird, I know. I even wanted to name one Sam Spade (Maltese Falcon). Or possibly Lost Generation writers (another favorite) Fitzgerald, Hemingway, Dos Passos (maybe not!) or possibly Agatha for a female.

I have a long list of potential dog names. I write them down when I think of them. When we pick up dogs from shelters for Dane rescue we get to name them. Pharrell, Felicity, and Nigella have been our favorites - both for the dogs and the names. :) Buddy came with that name, and he was so overly friendly and happy that we kept it because it fit! But he would have been Tyrone had he not had a name. :)

Tyler came to mind. Not sure why. I think it is harder to name boy dogs than it is to name girl dogs. I like the other names you have mentioned, too. :)

How about Harry? That way it sounds a little like Harley and he won't have to adust too much. And he would be voted into Crippendorf...

I saw a cute name today for a dachshund on petfinder. His name was Templeton. It reminds me of the rat in Charlotte's Web. :D He loved to eat anything,(remember the scene at the carnival where he eats all the leftover food?) sounds familiar.

Smorgasboard orgasboard orgasboard! That IS a really cute name. There used to be this guy at work who sat near us and would YELL into the telephone, and he sounded a lot like Templeton, so that is what we called him. :D Did you know they are going to "remake" that movie? I say leave well enough alone!

and ideas on names all of you.
I think we are just going to continue to call him Jake, he is going to his new home next week sometime.
I am sure they will want to change it to something they want.
Poor kid so many names and so little time here with me. :(
He will be right here in the same neck of the woods as me. I am so happy that I will be able to see him grow up.
They are good clients of my vet. :) :)
