Told my husband not to go out of town for a week. Okay, it looks like I will be fostering a pup.
Please do not congratulate me, you will only be encouraging insanity.
Have no idea of sex or exact age. Part or all wire. This is an emergency situation, the only reason I agreeded. He/she to be pts at a shelter Thurs. if not pulled.
What I am counting on, as soon as I get and evaluate him/her is that you will help me find him/her/it a good home. He will be vetted, shots, neutered. Going to let all of you help with a name too.

I thought I seen a sun beam today.
How about a good luck wish? Can we do that?<IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm34.gif" border=0>

Want to be roomies at "The Home" or do you want your own room? Let us know about sex and personality and we'll think of names.

Hot off the press: 2 months old.
I am getting the information in bits and pieces.
Trust me, Georgette, you don't want to room with me and a not yet housebroken puppy! The puppy is okay, I'm the one in restraints!
Will let our Canadian friends know when I know.
The red light is blinking again,

You're such a softie! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/angel.gif
I'm happy for you! Hey, with all the advice available on this board, that puppy will be housebroken in no time! Another NC dog avoids the needle by minutes--YOU GO, GIRL!!!!!
Tons of love and lots of luck,
Pamela

What can we say except congrats? You are the greatest for taking in something you know nothing about! Thanks for being such a "softie" as Wienergal puts it! Best of luck to you both with the potty training.
Some smiles to keep your sanity:

Hi All:
The shelter delivered Da Brothers to the vet this morning. Spoke with the front desk; typical shelter dogs, covered head to toe with fleas. Getting their physical, shot, dewormed, deflead. What more could a Mother ask for? http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif
Hope the gal at the shelter who guestimated their weight was waaaay off. She said about 12 lbs. Looked up Boomer's papers. At 8 weeks he weighed 14.6oz and my dear, you should see how much of a Moose that Dobe is now! Pamela, maybe the joke I made about Gr. Dane/Dachshund isn't realy that funny!
Laundry room is puppy proofed, and potty papered. Crate ready to go. Meeting at 1 in the parking lot of a Pet Store (how appropriate) tomorrow. Once I get them we will move this adventure to a different department and make way for the next rescues.http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/wavey.gif
Thanks everyone,
Roxane

EXCUSE ME, ROXANE, but we're ALL out of our minds! If we didn't have these dogs, we could put all that money into nice things for the house (they wouldn't get ripped up), & nice clothes (they wouldn't get ripped up), good food that would go into OUR mouths instead of to all the beggars around the table.
We could sleep late on the weekends, without "certain parties" nudging us with cold noses that it is time to go out & have breakfast.
We could stay out late in the evening or suddenly decide to go somewhere for a weekend without having to rush home to feed/pee/exercise the dogs.
We wouldn't show up at important events with footprint-shaped smudges on our clothes & all the blusher licked off one cheek.
We could leave the wastebasket on the floor, like other people do, instead of having to leave it in the sink when we go to work.
SO, JUST WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU'RE SO CRAZY???

<IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm3.gif" border=0> Dachsie Danes! I love that!
Dachsie's with a height attitude.
OR
Lab Dachsies- water loving, retrieving sort of long bodies. Imagaine, actually getting a toy back from those 6000 lbs per sq. inch jaws...
Be happy that they aren't Poodle-Dachsie. Or you would have to take up some serious hegde cutting classes...<IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm27.gif" border=0>
Congrats to you and big hand clapping (Shhhh, listen Roxane, you can allll-most hear it where you live) from E-burg.

Roxane, we can't wait for stories!! Bet you love those mooses in no time! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif
Penny's Aunt, too true, too true! Related to every point you made--especially the housewares one. I really should get new carpet. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/lol.gif
Sonja, someone on the DRNA board was describing her dogs and mentioned she had a "dachsador"--a Lab/dachs mix. I asked whether she was joking and whether, in fact, such a dog could be...created. Whole buncha' people chimed in: It's apparently a fairly common cross!!! Can you imagine???? http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/afraid.gif
