Does anyone know if Petsmart really carries "Bobo" the cute stuffed toy in the commericial with the Doxie that goes to Petsmart to get a new "bobo"??
I have not been to my petsmart since that commerical came out and I do not feel like driving the 6-7 miles to the store (gas prices, trying to conserve) if they do not have it.. I have been buying my food at the new Wal-mart that opened up just 2 minutes from my house, so for right now Petsmart is not in my driving plans unless they have Bobo for sale.....
Anyone Anyone ??????

Do a search on Bobo here and see just how many DBB'ers have purchased! I think it has been my boys favorite toy. We have 4 of them!

They have it!!!
We purchased a Bobo the day after seeing the commerical. It is definitely our favorite toy. Actually, we have an indoor Bobo and an outdoor Bobo. I got tired of picking the grass out of his fur :)

Try calling your PetSmart to be sure they have one in stock before you drive there. I always call ahead if I'm looking for a special brand or item.
Good luck on finding one. :)

Okay, I finally gave in. There's been so much talk about "bobos" that I bought 3 for my crew. I would have bought 6 (one for each), but they'll just fight over one anyway. :D

Yup, bobo is for sale at petsmart and we had him for a week (max time a stuffed toy lasts with Katie...) But I went to get food yesterday and wanted a new bobo and none!! Looked like they were switching their inventory for winter so I hope they get more in. She loved it!! (But its a lot smaller than it looks in the commercial

I haven't seen the commercial either (may be going to the website to check it out after I leave here :D ) but when I saw everyone's dachsies with Bobo on here, we HAD to have one. DH bought one about a week ago, and we're still going strong. Bobo stays in the living room most of the day, because although Schroeder isn't a master destuffer, I still didn't think it was safe to leave him alone with Bobo. But, when we let Schroeder out of the kitchen in the evening, the first thing he does is look for Bobo! It has been quite the hit at our house!

Yes they do, got one about a month ago. They were on a separate display, toward the front of they store in Ca. I'm waiting for the other colors to come out. If the commercial Bobo looks pink and mine is tan. With 4 doxies in the house one is not enough.
Oscarsmommy
10-20-2005, 10:27 AM
I have only seen the pink ones at our PetSmart once. Most of them are tan.
The "Loofa Dog" aka "Bobo" comes in three different sizes. They make one that is very short and then they make two sizes of the long one :)
We have the medium Bobo because Oscar is still a puppy :) Ours is still going strong after a month, however, I did have to sew up a small hole in his foot.

OK, after reading all the posts, I went to our petsmart here in Jersey and got 2 bobo's for my Romeo and Juliet. One is yellow, the other is tan. Those were the only 2 colors they had. They do love them. :D

Yeah!!!!,
I found the Bobo's at Petsmart today, I am so excited and Heidi and Princess just love them.. I got the last Pink and Purple ones left, the big ones were on sale.
Heidi and Princess are confined to their crate for a while, they just got spayed on Tuesday, and sadly, Princess was already in Heat and we did not know it, so she is healing slower than Heidi, Princess's incision is still seeping a bit and we have to keep her in the kennel so she doesn't split the incision open. And of course, I can't just keep her in their and leave Heidi out, because Princess goes just crazy, they are never apart from each other,, Ho Hum, this is just awful,
So right now they are in their crate playing with their Bobo's, but they are having fun. I keep letting them out for potty breaks, but then back in the crate for Princess, Heidi stays out for a while until Princess can't handle it anymore..
I am so excited to have found the Bobo's!!!!!!!

I still have not seen the commercial!--my mother told me about it--
My son and I were at the Petsmart in Knoxville, TN (before my mother told me about the ad) and we did not see any--we hunted hard--I assumed that they did not carry them--they must stay sold out alot because when I got home I did a search of Petsmart and up they popped!--
Still contemplating whether to get one or not cause of the expense and the amount of time they would last--Lucky doesnt even like stuffed things (only his RED ball) and Maggie has a what I call a generic Bobo--a stuffed long duckie with a squeaker she seems to like very well--

They even carry them at the local Rural King. Sort of a "Tractor Supply" like place here in the Mid-West. I work there part-time for a few extra bucks. I get a lot of Nook Nook's supplies there. Haven't decided if I will get one though...

Yes, I suggest calling - I have seen the commercial, and it is TOO CUTE!! If bobo is truly made of loofa sponge, that is really cool, because a loofa sponge is actually a plant, and if chewed, it should be non-toxic. What a terrific idea - stuffing a dog toy with a loofa sponge!!! Someone made big bucks with that idea - too bad it wasn't me! I'm not sure if our PetSmart in Fort Worth has one, but I think I'm going to check. If not, I guess the internet is the next best option.

So funny this thread was brought back to life. I just saw this commercial yesterday! I totally had not seen it before that. I probably have seen less TV though since working alot. It is way cute!!! I am definetly now on the hunt for some BOBO's for my crew.:D
I haven't seen the commercial in a while. I loved it, but as far as finding one in a Petsmart, good luck. I have been to the one close to here and have never seen them there. I finally asked on my last trip and the sales chick told me that they are a promotional item and that they only get a few at the time to put up by the registers. So an online purchase is the best bet. I think that we need to start a petition with Petsmart to get them to make it a stock item so that they are there at all times. The sales chick said that they fly out of there as soon as they get them in and that they get more of the small ones than the larger ones. I wanted to go in there like on the commercial and have Charlie pick out one and tote it out. Yeah I know that it is silly but humor me, ok.

Check out Mill's Fleet Farm. They carry Loofa dogs in three sizes and different colors. And they are a LOT cheaper than Petsmart.
As of right now they are back ordered at Petsmart. I saw the commercial and had to have one. I am waiting for it to come and they assured me it should be soon. I will let everyone know when we get one.

I hadn't seen the commercial either and a couple of my employees told me about it and wondered if I ever saw it since my dog Schatzi looks like the doxie in the commercial so I looked for it on the internet and found a link to it that I am listing here and a link to the download file, both of which are available on the petsmart website! Here they are:
Direct link to download it for keeps -- it requires Quicktime.
http://www.petsmart.com/pressroom/smart/downloads/perfectToy.mov
Link to site to play it:
http://www.petsmart.com/pressroom/smart/PressKit/video/index.shtml
I also see you can order them online from Petsmart if you like. I searched on Bobo on the Petsmart page and it brought me right to it. I see other links to it too on this board. I am hoping to get one to see how he likes it. His rubber ice cream sundae toy that I bought from Walmart 3 years ago (his very first toy and by far his favorite) has got to go! It is in really bad shape but I am afraid he will be sad if he can't find it --- I looked in several Walmarts but they often times don't replenish exact items of this nature so... I hope everyone that hasn't seen "Perfect Toy" enjoys it as much as I did...

Remember if you order online to go to the Petsmart site thru the DBB "Store" bone at the top of this page. A percentage of the sale will be given to this site! This little bit goes to help pay for this wonderful corner of cyber-space.
Bobo came in on Thursday from Petsmart. We got the 18 inch and it is about as long as Squirt. At first the little mad didnt seem to interested in him. But Mommy held Bobo and soon enough Squrity wanted him too. He has a Squaker in the head and a noise maker in the tail. So far I have seen my guy lay in him a few times, chewing on one end or the other. He also has humped Bobo a few times, to show him who is the boss i guess. And when he thinks no one is looking, he lays down with his paws around Bobo and goes nappy. So far its a winner.

PROBLY THE 12 INCH SO IT WILL BE EASIER TO CARRY AROUND!
We have both sizes and my special needs girl, Heidi Ho Ho, LOVES to tote around the big Bobo, actually she seems to prefer the bigger one (Heidi is 11 pounds) My healthy male, Valentin, seems to prefer the smaller one. It is easier for him to shake and "kill". Heidi just gets Bobo under her front paw and plucks him like a chicken

Heidi and Fiona get a new Bobo each every 2 weeks. He doesnt last long here before he has to go to Bobo heaven from being destuffed and desqueaked. We have had them since they first came out and the girls will pick them over all their toys inclding their Cuz balls. If you haven't tried a Cuz ball get one for your babies. They are also a great toy.
Petey's Mom

We got Petey a Bobo when he was about 10 weeks old, and within two days, Bobo had a couple seams come loose. I sewed them back up and now poor Bobo has lost one ear and his tail. One foot is looking iffy also. yes, Petey LOVES Bobo. Actually, it's a love/hate relationship, because one minute he is trying to gut Bobo and the next he is lying on Bobo napping. We got him a light blue one that's about 18" long, and it doesn't matter that it's twice as big as Petey; he just picks up Bobo, throws his head back and runs for all he's worth.

OK I'm getting frustrated with trying to find a BOBO!!!!!!!! Went to Petsmart yesterday and NO BOBO! The lady said again, they are promotional, not a stock item and we only get a few in and they are gone the same day. I live 25 miles from this store and that is the closet one til the one in my town opens but that wont be til later in the fall. So, I was like I'll go online and pay the shipping but what do I find? BACKORDERED!! I know that he will destroy it in 10 minutes flat but I would like for my Charlie to have at least have had one BOBO in his life. What is a mom to do that is only trying to spoil her son with one of the most sought after toys on the planet? Thanks for letting me vent on this. I'm going to keep up the hunt, for now.

I took the day off yesterday just so me and the kids could go to PetSmart and get a BoBo - and was told, like many others, that they only get a few in each week and those are gone before the end of the day. On line is the best suggestion, if you REALLY want a BoBo. They're VERY hard to find!! (It's a very effective commercial, obviously)

I got a Bo-Bo (AKA Harry) for Kaylie. It has become her second favorite toy. Pinkie is still her favorite. She finally has figued out how to get in her "house" with him in her mouth. She'll either take a run at it and Harry just bends back on both sides of her head or she'll turn her head until she gets inside with him.
Whomever their marketing person was that came up with that commercial hit a major homerun with it. <G>

You have to wonder if the Marketing folks at Petsmart realized the effect that amazing ad would have on the sales of BoBo's and their enduring popularity in the dachsie community. :D

And some people question whether dogs actually smile! :Sun2:
Bobo is, of course, VERY puppular in our house. But, alas, Bobo is tugged and ripped to shreds in a very short time. They are not made very well. The material is thin. But, if you have a gentle chewer, or just want to see your dog go nuts over a toy for about 15 minutes...get a BOBO!
By the way, Petco has them too! Actually, I am seeing Bobo EVERYWHERE these days. Even my vets office has them!
