Maybe you all can help out. My friends are fostering a special little, former puppy mill, dachsie. She's black and tan and hardly weighs in at 9 lbs. (she's still very very thin and needs to put on some weight still) She has had her spay yesterday and needed some teeth extracted too. She's young, maybe 2 years old.
My friend would like to see her go to a home with a retired woman, perhaps single, who wants a doggie to pamper the heck out of. She would love to see Olive become a "purse dog".... Owned by an excentric dachshund lover who wants to take her everywhere with her. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/bounce.gif
Does anyone know of someone like this? Let me know!! Olive is in San Diego and is technically under the care of San Diego Dachshund Rescue http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif

Amy, has the little doggie been put on the DRNA website? Might as well let the world have a look at her--the perfect new owner might be in Maine or North Dakota!

I probably should have been more specific... It would be better for her to stay in So. Cal, as she's had such a traumatic life already. I can't imagine her being put on a plane, it would just be too much. Unless... and Ralph has done this before... if the right person will come to San Diego to pick her up, and take her back personally under the seat, it could be possible. But.. that's a lot to ask.

Awww Jen...
If I had the space and the funds for two, I'd probably take her. She needs a full time mommy though. Owen does love her and they get along wonderfully, but my one bedroom apt. and meager means don't justify having two puppers right now. I really want a Dobie for my next dog, then a standard wire haired http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif I have time... Owen has lots of friends to play with all over the nieghborhood, so we're lucky like that. Keep an eye out for us though... We'll find her the perfect forever home!!!

Will do Amy ... dobies are cool ... you wanna hear something weird i have went to dog shows for the last couple months and i have yet to see a standard wirehair http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/frown.gif I bet they are great http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif Believe me these little critters can be expensive so i know where you are comming from...LOL I probably spend $100 a week on stuff for the 8 i have ... the only way i pay for it is by babysitting 2 kids after school while their parents work its hectic but my doxies are worth it we call it my "dachsie fund" <IMG SRC="http://dachsie.org/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm42.gif" border=0> Plus my son gets to have 2 little playmates come over everyday for a few hours and his mom gets paid for doing it! He thinks thats cool ...so do the doxies because they have that many more small hoomans to drop them little snackies on da floor. Gotta love the lil ones http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif
