Listen to this one. Some of you may remember I had an owner turn in last summer, Magarita.

She ended up going back to her family, and on occasion, I babysit.

Well, they asked me to babysit 2 weeks ago. They were supposed to call me when they came back to make arrangements to pick her up. They never did.

I called them and they finally said they didn't want her anymore. Can you believe it!
They wanted me to keep her. I had them sign her over to me, so you can add a 3 year old Mexican Dachshund named Magarita to my crew.

She is really sweet, very funny, she'll keep Dottie on her toes. This is it though, we are full.

BTW, I just got a digital camara from a dear friend, expect some pics coming your way.

Hi Andrea,

It looks like another little girl in need has found her way into your home. We all know you will do what's best for her. It sounds like you are planning on giving her a forever home is that right? If not we know you will find her another good home.

It's good to see you back on the board. I look forward to seeing those photo's.

Best Wishes,

Tom and the boys (Frank and Tanner)

Andrea,

I can't keep track of your crew anymore! How many weiners do ya have now?

That's great about Margarita (that name is hilarious for a dachsie!http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif). WHY didn't they want her anymore?

Andrea, maybe sometime you can post pics of your whole crew, INCLUDING Queenie?? You mentioned that you had some nice pics of her, I'm sure we all would like to see them.

Welcome back,
Susan

Hi Andrea! Glad to hear from you. I know I've been wondering where you have been. Margarita sounds like a little cutie. I can hardly wait for the pictures. I got a digi cam too but don't post enough pics. I'm happy for Margarita, but very disappointed that her family just abandoned her. At least they had the good sense to leave her with you!

Now, I was looking at my usual pages, DRWP and so on and came across this little dog named Baby. What is her story?? She is the fattest little thing I have ever seen. I wanted to cry for her. She is a doll though. Amazing how chubby you can make a dachshie. Her owner was killing her feeding her so much! Tell me about this girl.

Hi Andrea:
Maybe they had one Margarita too many! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/lol.gif http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/lol.gif http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/lol.gif
I believe they have done her a favor, a big favor. People who would just "dump" a dog, without the courtesy of discussing it with you...http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/mad.gif
I am sure you will find her a wonderful, caring home.
Good to hear from you,
Roxane and crew

I bet that Margarita loved being with you so much that she just acted bad with her family so they would leave her with you. Any dachsie knows a good Mama when they see one.

About Baby, I just find that so disgusting. The owners should be booked for cruelty.

I couldn't BELIEVE Baby's story either! I first read it without a pic, and I thought the 38 lbs. was surely a mistake! Then they had her pic up, and I nearly gasped in total DISGUST! I've never seen a dachsie like that. I just could not believe how the owners could let her get that way....total ignorance!

GOOD news from what I understand is that she's on a diet! I believe she was adopted too!http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif I'm sure she'll continue to drop now, thank goodness!

Glad to be back, a little weathered, but back.

Baby is from my area. My friend with CCDR husband picked her up, she cried when she saw her, the poor thing can't even walk, she is losing weight, but she has a long road to go down. Her stomach drags on the ground, and she kind of paddles to walk. I guess she is as sweet as they come.

Ok, Magarita is a member officially of the Fremont clan. So, in order of appearance, these are my kids:

Dukey
Dottie
Maggie
Roger
Sammy
Chloe
Phyllis ( Beagle/Dachsie mix, 35 lbs!)
Magarita

I swear to God, this is it!

Poor Magarita, she is a great girl, I feel badly for the woman, I think it was the husband that didn't want her. Roger is her boyfriend, they kiss each other constantly!

I am taking pics, and I will post them this weekend.

Jeez, I missed you guys!

Well yea for Margarita. Roger is a lucky guy! I'm glad you guys are helping Baby. I must say that my eyes puddled up. I hope she finds a great home. She is an adorable girl and if I didn't have 5, I would want that girl. My husband put his foot down at 5. Keep me up to date on her weight. I'll be glad to hear when she a slim trim girl.

http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/wavey.gif WELCOME BACK, DEAR ANDREA! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/wavey.gif

Missed you while you were away! I'm not the least bit surprised that you've added one more to your four-legged family--lucky litte girl, to have ended up with you! The less said about her former owners, the better...

As for Baby..., well, haven't we all seen extremely overweight children and wondered what on earth their parents were thinking? Do they just not SEE what's happening? I have no idea what goes on in the minds of people like that, but I'm glad as can be that Baby has been rescued. Let's hope she can burn off some weight and that her internal workings haven't been damaged by all that extra weight. Sheesh.
