Mckenzie went months without playing with any toys, just started occasionally picking one up and shaking it for a few seconds. Then she met this lizard,

the love of her life. :muchlove:

Skippy has been taught not to get within 5 feet of this lizard when Mckenzie has it. He will ease around her hugging the farthest wall, or if thats still too close he just backs off and sits and waits for her to move with it. :afraid:

I spent about an hour stitching this thing up the other night. I don't sew well but so far Mckenzie hasn't said anything about it.

That lizard does look like a well loved/well used toy! (Is that tape on his tail? ;))

McKenzie is lovely - especially in that shot in the chair, where she's either guarding or snuggling her lizard buddy. :)

That poor lizard, looks like it has had better days. So glad she has a favorite toy. Looks like you sewed pretty good to me :party6:

All I can say is that you need to find another one NOW!

Oh my do we need to go on a nation wide lizard watch to help find replacements like we once did for a red crab? Frank and Dexter know to steer clear of Tanner when he has one of his toys. Tanner is my tour leg alpha.

Yes, please do find replacements while they're still being made! Lynx has several Mr. Crabbies left from Rena's beyond generous donation to him when I couldn't find any replacements locally- they're so special to him- if only Mr. Toy Killer, Jake- would learn that they're off limits. :)

I'll have to admire the pictures later, from home- betting that they're cute, though! ;)

Aww that's so sweet and you're such a good hoodad for fixing it for her. You need to keep a lookout for replacements though, the fixing won't last forever!

Too late! Sadly, the lizard is deceased. :sob:

I tried to save it, but the trauma of having one leg ripped off and it's little belly ripped open was just too much for it. It went to that happy lizard/toy heaven where it can live in the mouths of toothless dogs forever. :sad3:

This was never intended to be handled by a dog. It was a promotional item given away by a local company several years ago and discovered by Mckenzie after some of my nephews were over mining the toy box for undiscovered treasures. There were individual tooth holes in it and the guts were sand. The material it was made of was just not tough enough.

Now, though, Mckenzie has decided that stuffed rabbit is almost as tasty as stuffed lizard. :party6:

Maybe someday, Girrl, too, will find a toy she likes. And if so, let's pray Gayla will learn not to take it away: she does have ALL the other toys.

Such a pretty girl you have there.

Dexter never has a toy long enough to become attached. Cute pictures.
