I'm becoming obesessed. Last Sun as I drove to "Fabric Land" I spotted a large highway sign for "PUPPIES". On the way back I stopped at this "Shake A Paw" shop advertising their quality breeder's puppies for $100 weekly specials. Also payment plans for $25. monthly. This store was doing a brisk business. I was wearing my HUA t-shirt & I went inside protesting to the manager. As I left I heard her say, "and you just stopped to say that?"
When I got home I spent the rest of the afternoon preparing a few anti-puppymill signboards to rotate on my property. I live on a fairly busy street. Then I check in to our board", snuggle with the babies...
Of course I do other stuff too but am I becoming a lunatic?http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/confused.gif

georgette,
naw! not a lunatic. just a firm believer and pointer-outer of puppy mill atrocities. I think it's great that you stopped. there was one here in columbus that had the puppies in open bins and anyone could pick them up and spread disease and nastiness. i complained loudly and at times nastily. others did the same and the place went out of business a short time later.
I do a lot of verbal stuff with pit bulls and dogs left in cars. i'll track someone down in a store and point out the rotten thing they've done to their dog. Pit bulls, i try to use mine as examples of how the breed really is. isobel is best friends with two pits now . . . .
I admire your following your heart and beliefs . . .don't let anyone call you a lunatic!!!!

I agree ... i dont think u are a lunatic just a very passionate person like me... i track ppl down in the grocery store telling them that what they are doing to their dogs is wrong and explainning about how dogs can die quickly if left in a hot car... its amazing how uneducated ppl are on their pets i had someone email me this morning asking me if it was ok to breed a brother and sister dog... its funny what some will do for a buck! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/frown.gif Im glad to see that some ppl DO care ... and when i stop these ppl in the store some run strait out to the car to get the dogs home ... its amazing how some ppl just dont know... http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/frown.gif Keep up the good work Georgette http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Another vote for your sanity, Georgette. Also for your courage. I'll remember what you did the next time I WANT to say something but bite my tongue instead.
I love the lawn sign idea too! I don't have a lawn of my own, but I did post an anti-puppy mill message in my amazon.com profile. Awareness is the first step!!!

I will protest for any living thing left in a hot car! I got in my car after work today and thought if any animal were left in a place like that they would be gonners in 4 minutes flat! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/frown.gif
Georgette! You keep it up. You inspire me!

Hey Georgette,
We could use you down here in Texas. The poor Texas reps are always full of rescues from people who just toss the dogs out and of course the hidden puppymillers. Any chance we can get you down here if only for a little while to stir things up? You will just love the heat and humidity too!
