I'll be wearing my Hearts United anti-puppy mill tee shirt and picketing in the deepest, darkest suburbs! Boy, it takes a lot for me to venture beyond the city limits into the Land O' Malls, but I think this is a really good cause.

Is everyone aware that Sunday is a national mobilization against puppy mills day? There's a huge rally in Washington, D.C., and the organizers have already been contacted by all the major media, so this is a wonderful opportunity to spread the word about those horrors. I'm sorry I didn't post this earlier...

My boss put me in touch with a teacher at her daughter's school. The teacher and her husband had told Nadine that they were going to get two dachshund puppies, a male and female. When Nadine asked where they were getting them, she said a pet store. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/angry.gif

Needless to say, Nadine, mother of rescued Arnold, told her no no no no no! BAD teacher! And put her in touch with me. Neither this well educated woman nor her well educated husband had ever heard of a puppy mill, and needless to say, had no idea about the dogs in pet stores.

So there is still plenty of work to do! If you want to find a rally near you, go to this website: www.imom.org. (http://www.imom.org.)

To the barricades!!!!
