View Full Version : Kong and or treat recipes
My little guy Squirt will be 6 month old in a week. I got him a new kong activity ball, but want some things to fill his old blue kongs with and maybe freeze. He is a busy chewer and I want him to chew something besides me and my clothes :pullhair: What size and color kong do most people use? I have a tweenie, he is about 8-9 lbs now.
Plus, does anyone have any recipes for treats that are good and easy to make?
Thanks in advance

HI!! I have the medium sized Kong (in red). My pup is almost 6 months old too (still can't believe she grew up so fast!!!) Anyways, my normal Kong that I give my baby, which sooo easy is this:
Ingredients:
Non-fat yogurt
Apple
Peanut butter
Sometimes dry kibble (part of what she would normally eat during a meal...not extra food)
I get either the Kong peanut butter stuffing or get reduced fat peanut butter and plug the small hole with it. Then I get non-fat original yogurt and put a spoonful in. Then I get some chopped up apples and put 5-6 little pieces in it. I take some peanut butter on my finger and try and get it on the lip of the Kong on the inside. Hmm...that's not very descriptive. OK, when you stick your finger in the kong, you can feel a lip or ledge about maybe 1/2 inch from the top of the big opening of the kong. Once the peanut butter is applied I put another spoon of yogurt and put it in my pup's food dish, put it in her x-pen, and I leave for work. I normally give it to her at lunch time.Cocoa will sit there and try and lick all the peanut butter from that lip...it keeps her really busy.
I think you can go to http://www.kongcompany.com/worlds_best.html to get more recipes for kongs too. Have fun. :party6:
