We had what would be considered a pretty good weekend ;)
We got the Field trial grounds Friday afternoon and stayed in our camper.. so no problem getting up Saturday morning bright and early.. but in this case it wasn't so bright.. very light rain and temps in the 40's. I quickly decided I was not wasting any money entering Merry on Saturday and almost decided not to run Bart because he doesn't have much coat right now. But in the end I did. To make a long story short.. On Saturday both boys did great. Both Badger and Bart were called back for second series. In the first series there were 24 dogs placed in 12 braces of two dogs each. In second series the judges call back 2-3 braces (4-6 dogs) that they felt scored the highest and they compete against one another.. there can even be a 3rd or more series until there is a clear winner. In Sat second series Badger was in the first Brace,.. Bart in the second. In Third series they were in the same brace! Which meant I had to work both dogs at once. In the end Bart defeated Badger and Bart went on to place 3rd and Badger 4th! The first field trial points for either dog!
