Here's a link to IMOM.ORG who is helping to organize a demonstration agaisnt puppymills and petshops who sell live animals. Check out the link, it's all about peaceful demonstration and getting the message out about mills and shops. http://www.imom.org/voiceless/
I think this is what I was looking for when it came to picketing pet stores w/puppies and kittens to sell.
Tell me what you all think!!

Yes this looks like it could get some coverage and be worthwhile. I'd even be willing to go to Washington DC that weekend. I'll read more about it. Thanks.

I like the idea of a
LARGE
demonstration. Anything to get the word out. It looks like they're still pulling things together. I've bookmarked the site and will follow it. Thanks, Amy!

By the way, on one page of the IMOM website, there's a list of states and their anti-cruelty laws. Only 17 treat animal cruelty as a felony. I was sad and ashamed to see that Illinois is among the majority who treat it as a misdemeanor--which means you can do terrible things like bury live puppies alive (a story on the news a couple of years back) and the worst thing that will happen to you is you'll have to pay a small fine.
Check out your state! Amazingly, Missouri, home of many puppy mills, has a felony law!
