Timber, my 3 month old doxie pup has a problem. In addition to Timber, my family also has 4 cats. The cat litter box is in the kitchen. Many times, Timber looks in there, and occasionally takes a piece of kitty poop and either drops t or EATS it. Once he has thrown up! What can we do to stop him?! There is no other place for the litter box.

Most dogs consider this type of dining irresistable. The only way I know that others (I don't and can't and wouldn't own cats) have gotten around this problem is to put the litter box in the bathtub....the dachshunds normally can't get IN there

Uhhh..... the bathtub?! Sorry, no can do. My cat digs and leaves piles of litter. Isn't it weird to have a litterbox in the bathttub? I have seen those products that stops dogs from eating stools, but would the cats still like the taste of the water or food?

My two guys love kitty poop as well. I have limited space as well, so I took a trunk long enough for the box and just enough room for the cat to jump up an go in. Since our guys are short, they can't jump up. Even if they could, there is not enough room ontop of the trunk for them to land. This has worked, and no more pulling poop out of their mouths.

Some cats won't use an elevated litter box, so maybe you could fence it off? Just a fence high enough to discourage the dog, but the cats could still jump over it.
We call them Penny's Almond Rocas.

Maybe you could try one of those litter boxes with the cover over it and face the opening towards a wall, so the cat knows where to get in but it wont be such a distraction for your pup.
