There is a full blooded Doxie in the Victorville,CA
shelter who is scheduled to die on Saturday -
wondering if there is anybody near who wants to
rescue/adopt or else could hold him for a week until I
have transportation to get him up to a foster home in
Northern Cal?

Amy!

I read the post. Is it VICTORVILLE....somewhere in the desert in S. CA or Vacaville....about 60 miles from me? Let me know! If it's Vacaville, MAY be able to persuade hubby to take a nice scenic drive out that way, but wouldn't be able to get there until Sunday. No promises (dang! Wish I had seeing eyeballs to drive!

I just forwarded the message to the e-mail addresses listed for "Southern CA Dachshund Rescue", "San Diego Dachshund Rescue" and to one new member of this board who is in San Diego and possibly looking to add to their family. All I know about these groups is what you can read on their web pages. Links to the web pages can be found from the rescue links at www.dachie.org. (http://www.dachie.org.) I hope no one minds, just trying to get this guy out of the shelter before it's too late. Perhaps someone from the area can comment on how good these groups are. Should I consider suggesting them to people on the web who are looking for a rescue in the Southern CA area.

Thanks,

Tom

San Diego Dachs. Rescue will be hosting the WienerDog races tomorrow and, I do believe, has a full house right now (and the new members from S.Diego are friends of mine and will be at the races also). I'm still crossing my fingers though. It looks like DRNA has some transportation set up if we can get him out of the pound.

Let's continue to think good thoughts for the little guy!!

Im not sure but i think Deb from Lil Paws was asked to go get this pup... not sure if she is or not she just mentioned something to me about a dachshund pup in the pound in victorville. I know she just took in 2 rescues one is 14yrs old and blind http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/frown.gif The other is a younger male blk/tan maybe around 4 i think she said. Its sad that ppl dont take better care of their animals http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/frown.gif

No details on who picked the dog up but I did get a reply back from the Dachshund Rescue of San Diego representative I e-mailed on Friday and he confirmed the dog was removed from the shelter yesterday. It was not his group who got the dog out but he thinks it was one of the other rescue groups.
