The most famous of meteor showers, the Perseid Meteor Shower, takes place July 22 to August 23, but the best time should be on the night/morning of Aug. 12th/13th. It starts about 10:00 pm, but the best should be between midnight & dawn. If it's a good year, there should be about 80 meteors an hour, although some years there have been only 4, but other have had over 200. They are fast, & about 45% tend to have definite trails.

So drag your chaise lounge into the open, point your feet south & look up. Munchies & drinks are allowed, & anything goes that doesn't scare the horses.

Forget the dachsies unless you've got some primo snacks, & maybe not even then.

Wow P.A.! Funny that you should mention that. About a week ago I saw a meteorite and it was HUGE. It actually startled me!
I waited for another, but none came and I got bored craining my neck.

I don't think I can get Wotan unvelcro-ed off my leg, but if I bring a piece of jerky and a blankie I'm sure my dachsie boy will be comfy

Awwwww... We city folk are jealous! Imagine being startled by a meteor! The only visible moving objects in the nighttime Chicago sky are 13,000 planes going into and out of O'Hare at any given moment, news helicopters, blimps flying over Wrigley Field, and pigeons.

Thanks for reminding us Penny's Aunt. I like to star watch. I usually leave the dachsie's at home and bring Katie for company.

On the night Rita's puppies were born, I was bringing her and her babies home about 3:00 am after her c-section. As I was getting her and the pups out of the van the most beautiful meteor flashed over my house. I took it as a good omen.
